I went to a nice little local gun show this past weekend. Lots of the usual dealers with unrealistically overpriced guns. But there are always a couple of dealers here who are actually reasonable on prices, and are at least willing to haggle a little on what they have.

There are always at least a few non-dealer tables at this show with a pretty good assortment of used guns. Most of these guys just want to see an ID and/or a carry permit (and of course cash). Most of them don't record anything, they just want to see the permit. Some of these guys don't even ask for that, just cash. Maybe not always the best prices, but it seems that the market is always a little better for firearms with no paper trail. I like that.

I'm wondering how much longer that will go on.

It was running around $470 for 1k rounds, about $130 more than just a couple weeks ago.

Much of that can be accounted for by the change in the market vs two weeks ago...without considering the gun show sources over priced.

Depending on what specific ammo that was it might have only been $20 over the best online price.

The ammo was PMC X-Tac.
Did you get the 4 mk at a show or online?

There's more than one type of PMC X-Tac, and they go for different prices...when they are even in stock.

One of them is an M855 (62gr steel cone penetrator), and the best price I am aware of, right now, for that type of ammo is $450/1k. That $470 you saw may have been very much in line with the market, all things considered.
