A million magazine march on Washington...Could it work?

Funny i thought about a million gun owner march, minus the guns....

Oh, I wouldn't count on that much. DC police, Parks Police, Capitol Hill Police, Secret Service, FBI, yadda yadda yadda have a lot of experience in making mass arrests in DC. They would have no problem at all scooping you all up and having you cool your heels in the DC armory for a couple of days just to make an example.

New York City would be better. Imagine the Anti's that would show up. They would ignore the marchers on the news and only interview the anti's.

You mean we still have to follow the rules and work within this corrupt, broken system to try to change it while our enemies aren't required to? Something fishy about that, and it doesn't sound right to me. One law for me and another for thee? Sorry, that isn't how it works here in this country. We have legal precedent now, I would think.

DC PD did NOT approve Gregory's use of the mag. In fact, they told him NO and he did it anyway - And faced no charges.

When's it our turn?

The prosecutor declining charges on Mr. Gregory had nothing to do with concluding his use of the magazine was protected pseech. They chose not file because they did not consider the prosecution to be a wise use of the their time and resources, and would not serve the safety or public interest of the District. I wouldn't want you assuming that you could do such a march under 1A and claim an actual lawful precedent set by David Gregory.

Want your magazine to be "protected speech?" Stage a march with the kind you READ. It can be just as potent a visual.

Imagine... no signs. No shouting. A minute of silence called at the Washington Mall, and in absolute and grimly determined quiet, around the reflecting pool, hundreds of thousands of American hands holding up copies of a printed magazine with a GUN on the cover.

No laws broken. Only literature and the resolve of ordinary Americans on display.

These are our "gun magazines". Yes, we own guns. We also read - and vote.

The other obstacle against lawful average citizens attending an event in mass is that most of us have to work for a living and we don't have someone else paying for the bus trip to DC.

An empty holster Million Man March would get the point across as well.

A million gun owners personally contacting their elected officials would have more effect than being an anonymous person in a crowd and a lot easier to get done.

Judging from the turnouts at state capitols yesterday, that just isn't happening.

I'd bring just 30-round AK magazine bodies. They should be legal anywhere?

The police would just use the event as a massive fund raiser. Giving everyone a citation and a $1,000 "pre-trial" diversion fee.

It's what they do at college campuses and spring break. The cops would have no problem laying out the pain on the citizenry.

We could all just show up to go to the Smithsonian on the same day. Walk around Washington to sight see. Of course the White House and the Capital are must sees. Like 2-3 million. We could all eat at Chick-Filet. We could all wear NRA gear but no central organization.

Some pigs are more equal than others. A liberal anti-SA propagandist violating gun laws? Fine. Pro-SA citizens carrying magazines? I'd bet the liberals would be frothing at the mouth for them to be shot in the streets. You can bet your entire months paycheck, after what's left after paying for Obama phones, welfare queens EBT, kickbacks to campaign contributors, etc etc, that you would be arrested, beaten, prosecuted, and fined/imprisoned to the full extent of the law. Since law no matters anymore, probably more.

I say just attach the real magazine to a picket sign. Apparently the First Amendment trumps the Second Amendment.
