What non Glock related thread would be complete without one?

The 2022 is a really great "value" pistol. It is often (and unjustly so) overlooked.

From your list I would go with the M&P forget the other S&W. They are a good step below the M&P ones.

Have you given FNH a try? I ended up getting a FNS9. I like the M&P my wife prefers but the FNS just plain feels better.

As many others elsewhere have pointed out. Try every gun and shoot everyone you can. When you find one that feels nice just picking it up that is probably the gun for you.

I really do not understand the "anti-Glock" attitude of some. Currently owning Glock and other brands of handguns, I just do not see why there is always someone being upset when a person recommends a Glock. It is after all the gun that made polymer guns popular and respected. It is after all one of the best sellers if not the best. The company stands behind its products better than most. The guns are not over priced. Very easy to maintain and 100% reliable. Many of the "Made in USA" versions are starting to show up.
Why the dis-like anytime Glock is mentioned?

As far as the "Baby Desert Eagle 2 polymer", mine is in 9mm and is really a nice gun to shoot and seems like it will last a long time. The trigger is getting much smother as the round count increases. Have had mine only for a month. IWI seems to have a good hoster selection, but are now sold out. It is one of those guns that feels "just right" when you pick it up.

There's nothing wrong with recommending Glocks.

But the OP specifically mentioned he is not interested in Glocks, so pushing them does little to add to the discussion.

I have the Polymer Fullsize 9.

Great trigger, accurate, light. Acts like a CZ, looks like a hybrid, and is reliable.

Excellent guns.

Police trade in HK USP 9 or USP compact. I think they hover in the $500 range.

I am naturally inclined to recommend something that rhymes with "ock" but from your list I would choose the Sig. I think it is an amazing gun for the money and the only way assde from used to get a real Sig pistol cheaply. If one walks into my LGS, I will buy it.

I do not like M&P pistols largely for the same reason you do not like Glocks. I hate the way they look. And they do not fit my hand as well as other guns do.

I purchased a Walther PK380 for my wife because, due to hand and wrist issues, she was no longer able to use her Glock 23. It fits the hand well, is accurate and pleasant to shoot. It also has a slide that is easier to pull back than any pistol I have seen, which made it possible for my wife to use it. It has been very reliable. IMO, the build quality leaves a bit to be desired but I am picky.

I will agree with those pushing the idea of the CZ75. Very nice. Hard to beat.

It would take days to explain. The reader's digest condensed version is that it is mainly created by those who own one pistol, or one brand of pistol and have little to no experience beyond that and typically have an attitude that is inversely proportional to their experience and also usually representative of their age relative to those who have experience.

This thread is a great example. What brand wasn't on the list and why is it even showing up in this thread?
