During recent testimony on proposed gun control laws in MN, two firearms experts brought two 10/22s (cleared by security) to demonstrate how the proposed legislation would ban only cosmetic features. Rather than listen to the testimony, which purportedly was for the purpose of informing the legislators so they could write good laws, the committee got up and walked out on the experts - refusing to even listen to what they had to say.

Doesn't surprise me. They don't care and they'll never understand. They have the cognitive ability of a child.

these are the clowns elected by the people.

elections have consequences.

Not all of us voted for these idiots... but unfortunately the masses of welfare monkeys in the metro areas outweigh the more rural conservatives.

A similar incident happened in WA, in which a city councilmember walked out upon finding out that a pro-2A speaker was lawfully carrying. The mayor then acknowledged that his action, and the protests of another against the carrying of firearms in the city hall (lawful under state law) amounted to the dereliction of duty of a duly-elected representative of the people.
I wonder if anyone there will have the intestinal fortitude to call out those in this story for such dereliction of duty, namely, the refusal to make every reasonable effort to be well-educated in any field on which one intends to take any action.

Certainly the Governor of MN will not be calling them out for dereliction of duty. The man is a walking derelict.

What is interesting is that this happened back on Feb 6 according to the tweet. What happened to the video, and why is this just getting out now?

I agree with another post here, that this is a wonderful state. The politics here are getting very bad though. Minnesota has always been a left leaning state, but not in the way they are becoming now. Progressivism is sweeping in and taking out any common sense there used to be. I will be relocating if the Gov. and Leg. go all out with the agenda it looks like they want to push.

Same nonsense as when our State Senators left the state (ran away to Illinois and hid) so no State business could be conducted. Of course, nothing was done to any of the COWARDLY 14 ... but I think they should have been removed from office for "DESERTION" or "FAILURE TO UPHOLD THEIR OATH OF OFFICE". Maybe the good folks of Minnesota should consider impeachment or recall.

Then ... there's always the option to just ignore whatever laws they pass ... since what goes 'round, comes 'round. If you aren't interested in properly representing me ... then I'm under no obligation to pay attention to your stupid laws.

Amazing! My grandfather was born in MN in 1874, I bet he's rolling in his grave.
Course he started moving west as a young man, maybe he knew something.

IMHO, we would all be better off if all our so-called "representatives" walked out. No problems with salaries - we should be happy to pay them to stay away.

Jim

Firearms owners in MN should make a row, charge these people of extreme prejudice/bigotry regarding the issue, that refusing to have the facts before legislating means the laws are based in bigotry. And keep hammering at it. Point out that firearms laws have a history of racism and bigotry and this is more of the same. Force them to explain themselves. :fire:

The truest line I have read yet. A huge +1.

Here in Missouri, if you took out St. Louis city (not county), I don't think there would be a liberal Dem in office - statewide. Well, maybe one or two........

I wish all the legislatures would walk out and stay out, all the way up to Congress itself.

No quorum = not in session = no laws passed = no bad laws passed.

Then if we could just have them come back and decide what unlawful programs to eliminate to get budgets in balance, and do nothing else....but that's just a dream.

This is the state that elected Al Franken to the Senate...is anyone really that surprised?

Jesse Ventura? The state does like show business.

Anyway - if you want a techy term - it's called confirmation bias - ignore all info that disagrees with you.

When Obama got his second term the libs took it as a signal that The Constitution and all it stands for went out with the trash. They will now proceed to do anything and everything they can get away with.

To all my Democrat friends who said this wouldn't happen, thanks for nothing! Don't call and ask to use my back yard range again, it will be closed, to you.

Not surprising. They would have to actually use logic to comprehend what was being said.

They don't want to hear any Facts, they want to remain Willfully Ignorant!:banghead:

Their actions are something reminiscent of what spoiled, petulant children do when they are being lectured by their parents.

Speaking from close personal experience, Minnesota is populated by rubes.

Side note, when Jesse Ventura ran for Governor - that was before all the wacky weed.. He actually was a decent guy. He governed on what he ran on. There's a rather famous (I think video too) story where a welfare mom accosted him on the capitol steps after his cuts to welfare spending and requirement changes.

I'm paraphrasing here, but there welfare (baby) momma accused him of putting her and her family out in the cold and she couldn't work. His response was basically "Ma'am, it's not my problem that you can't keep your legs closed" and if you've got enough time to stand out here all day to argue with me, you've got enough time to go look for a job.

I remember that was on several news outlets at the time. I remember standing up in my living room with a "Hell'' yeah" Unfortunatley, when he went to Florida - I think he got into a bad batch of gonja or something that scrambled his brain...
