Magpul update... not bluffing!

We're hearing some rumors that the Gov and the Dem caucus think we are bluffing. Just to clarify for them, then...we're not a political company. We dont play political games. We've made our position very clear, very publicly. We would not survive lying to our customer base, nor would we ever consider it. If you pass this, we will leave, and you will own it. We've already got plans in place to get PMAG manufacturing moved rapidly, and the rest of the company will follow. We will make sure to at least have a small remain-behind operation through the 2014 elections so that we can remind folks why we are gone.

I hate to see them go, but this is what happens when power and control are more important than economics.

DSG is still taking backorders which are being filled 6-7 weeks out and has not increased their prices!

Even if CO doesn't pass the law...they have demonstrated they can't be trusted not to try to same thing in the future.

Companies have to take action to reduce future risks as well. Time to move Magpul. Come to TX!
 
I would almost agree Torian, almost.

Like you, I initially would suggest that Magpul move anyway, regardless if it passes or not; punish the fascists who merely suggested the gun control. However, if it doesn't pass and they leave anyway, what's to stop the legislature from taking the issue up again and ramming it through? There would be no Magpul in Colorado to make an economic threat that day. Nothing would stand in the way of gun control that day.

If this ultimately doesn't pass and Magpul stays, they become a throne of legislative influence. They stay in the state and get a place at the table where laws are written.

Or they can do the prudent thing and move half of the operation to Texas, they know it will happen again.
This would be the best of both worlds as they can accomplish both having an operation in a free state and rubbing the nose of the Libs in it in Colorado.

This would lessen their economic impact in CO threby lessening the weight of any threat they make to move the whole operation. It would, in fact, do the opposite of what you expect.
It's an all or nothing deal.

Kudos to Magpul. I've never owned one of their products but am now looking at their website to see if they make something I can buy just to say thanks for the support. Looks like my Rem 870 may need a new stock and foreend!!
 
Well they've said that they will leave if it passes and stay if it fails.

If they do anything other than what they said, it'll make the next company's threat meaningless. Nobody would put stock in what any company threatened to do or not do.
 
Bravo to them.

And to those saying....they should move anyways. Why displace all of the employees if they dont have too? Even if the employees decide to make the move, it is a major thing for every employee. Not to mention the costs they will be incurring to move.

I say, they should stay if the bill doesnt pass. As much as I would love to have Magpul operating down here in The Gunshine State, I totally support their decision.

I would like to see Remington move for krine out loud though!!
 
If they do move, they should forever mold a bit of text into their products that says something about how Magpul products used to be made in Colorado but are now made in a state that honors the rights of Americans.
Colorado passed their ban so looks like magpul will be leaving.

Neither the Colorado Senate nor the Governor's desk has seen this legislation.
 
They get any and all of my future business for anything I need that they sell. I support companies like this as much as I can.
 
I wish they would come to Missouri.

Set-up shop in Columbia (middle of the state), and have Midway come pick-up orders by the truck load!

Own many MagPul products.

They have the huevos to make good their promise. I applaud them, and will be buying their products, no matter where they are.

I doubt it. Your socialist politicians are themselves trying to destroy the 2nd Amendment.

Magpul will doubtless choose a state that is both labor friendly and gun friendly. Oklahoma maybe? Texas?

Do some homework before you make statements like this. TWO St. Louis area dems are introducing some b.s. legislation that has zero chance of going anywhere. Period.

We have a Republican Supermajority and some of the most relaxed firearm laws in the U.S..

So, what are you talking about?
 
Why go to Texas when Wyoming is just up the road and more gun friendly than Texas? I mean, in Wyoming, you only need a Wyoming CCW permit if you are going out of state. Besides, Texas is still playing catch-up to Wyoming's Firearms Protection act.:neener:
 
Wyoming would be my #2 choice (if the San Saba River Valley ceases to exist).

Try my hand at growing wheat, maybe. And shoveling snow. And snow tires! I've never owned any...
 
Pro-business, Pro-gun State? Think Tennessee fits that bill and its closer then Texas :p..
