What is the source of the 1-2 billion round DHS ammo purchase story that I see talked about all over the place now?
Is this purchse actually taking place or is it an Alex Jones exaggeration that has taken on a life of it's own??

Look up the acronym IDIQ.

Or just read this: http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/103926

Alex Jones & Co. could turn an advertisement of a three-legged-race at a church picnic into such a pile of fearful feces that folks would commit mass suicide rather than live to face the coming terror.

If he says it, just routinely believe the opposite is true.

think of it as a necessary first step before they can award contracts to demil the ammo and sell the pulldown projos and powder to reloaders.

You can say what you want about Alex Jones or anyone else reporting on these things on the internet, but one fact remains after all is said and done.

That is, that, yes, ammo is being purchased and stored around the country for emergencies.

I have a buddy that works for a county office of emergency management. I will not mention which, nor give any details. But I can tell you that they have a FEMA portable ammo bunker stored at a secure facility along with massive quantities of freeze dried food, and water.

Read into it what you will, it is a simple fact.

When the story broke someone, either by mistake or on purpose added a few zero's to the end of the total. Yeh, they have a contract for a few MILLION rounds of ammo spread over a 5 year period. Not BILLIONS.

The one fact you and Alex Jones overlook (or purposefully omit in AJ's case) is the fact that these ammunition purchases occur several times a year and are a REGULAR OCCURENCE......this ain't even newsworthy.

Thank God they do.
FYI....thats pretty much the point of FEMA....being prepared for disasters, emergencies and zombies. Wouldn't you agree?

Paranoia, its what's for dinner.

I believe the location of FEMA facilities is a matter of public record. At least we will know where the ammo is. Think of it as ammo registration that only applies to the government.

If he says it, just routinely believe the opposite is true.

Sure, A.Jones sensationalizes, exaggerates (like you're doing right now) gets the facts wrong sometimes, etc. like many in the media but to insinuate nothing he reports is true or his many (respected) guests could have nothing of importance to pass along, is ludicrous.

I suppose you think fluoridated water, GMO foods & Thiomersal/Mercury in your flu vaccine are all perfectly safe? Sure, you've been told to believe that by MSM....A.Jones was at the forefront of these topics and many others.....Sure, many times he's his own worst enemy but your vehement condemnation is just as theatrical. :neener:

Just keeping it in perspective. ;)

Oh heck!!!

^^ "at times he's his own worst enemy" doesn't cut it for investigative journalism. Crying wolf ONE time ruins you as a respected source of news and puts you on the fringe.
Alex Jones makes a living crying wolf. Once in a while, through no fault of his, something sticks.

Even the wacko's ackowledge that Alex Jones is chief piper among them.

Thiomersal/Mercury in your flu vaccine are all perfectly safe?

The CDC said:
Today, except for some flu vaccines, none of the childhood vaccines used routinely in the United States contain mercury (thimerosal) as a preservative. Although no evidence suggests that there are safety concerns with thimerosal, vaccine manufacturers stopped using it as a precautionary measure. Now it is contained in very tiny amounts only in multi-dose vials of flu vaccine. Thimerosal is necessary in vaccines that come in multi-dose vials because they require that each individual vaccine dose be drawn from the vial with a new needle and syringe. With each needle inserted, there is the potential for introducing microbes into the vial.

There is no evidence of harm caused by the small amounts of thimerosal in flu vaccines, except for minor reactions like redness and swelling at the injection site. Flu vaccines that do not contain thimerosal are available.

Just keeping it in perspective....and from this perspective Mr.Jones is a nut-bar with a creamy nougat filling.

i found it:

ANOKA, Minn., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ATK (NYSE: ATK) announced that it is being awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement from the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS, ICE) for .40 caliber ammunition. This contract features a base of 12 months, includes four option years, and will have a maximum volume of 450 million rounds.

I hate it when that happens.

Protect your brain from RF (radio-frequency) pollution with this handsome baseball style hat. Specially designed to shield the head from frequencies from below AM through microwave, including cellular phone frequencies. Lined with sophisticated Polyester/Cotton blended with micro-fine stainless steel fibers for excellent radiation protection. This gives this unique fabric a truly comfortable, natural feel, durability and washability, but with exceptional reflective characteristics.

I don't know what typical ammo orders are from the gov., but it seems like this would certainly dent the supply and contibute to the shortage. That averages out to 90 million rounds per year.

Plus that is only .40, they are also buying millions of rounds of other calibers. Plus, there are other agencies that are also buying. Are these orders typical or larger than normal? Anyone know?

Beside, do we really need to borrow money from other countries to buy 90 million rounds, for only DHS? Wonder what the total ammo buy numbers are for the entire gov. excluding military.

"A.Jones" claims that we never landed on the moon. Dude? He is a disastrous abomination as a pretend news man. He's worse than having no voice on "our" side because he makes everyone associated with "his" side of every issue look like drooling, microencephalic, objects of the public's pity simply by that association.

Anyone he drags onto his stage is diminished by that even fleeting association.

Don't tell me he gets some things right. He HURTS us, just by appearing in public and deluding so many by pretending to believe the gross tripe he says. Assuaging his lust for fame has damaged us.

A pox on him!

I suppose than Dr. Michael Savage is a nut bar too, as he's denounced Thiomersal....If it's harmless, then why was it removed? :scrutiny:

The CDC....lol....Asbestos, lead, pesticides, etc, etc. all use to be considered "safe" at one time.....but go ahead and do as you're told! :)

How does this thing keep coming around like a bad penny? DHS is an umbrella agency that provides a lot of training for many, many agencies. That adds up to a lot of bullets. There's nothing sinister here.

As for Alex Jones, Sam1911 hit the nail on the head. There's nothing wrong with genetically modified (GM) foods. Humans have been cross pollinating plants to create new, hardier foods for centuries and centuries...we just have more efficient methods now. GM foods are a perfect way to meet mankind's growing food requirements and anyone who rails against it really doesn't understand the science or the history behind it. Fluoridated water? Give me a break, I thought that died out with the Dr. Strangelove gag.

Ethnomedicine - Traditional medicine. Like Chinese medicine, and new age...stuff.

Don't know how much I trust that "doctor."
Don't forget, Howard Dean is a medical doctor, astronaut Lisa Nowak wore a diaper to travel cross country to abduct a romantic rival, and Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell believes in psychics, and government alien cover ups.

Just because you are smart, doesn't mean you aren't crazy.

Horsehockey.
Alex Jones was born in 1974. My opthamologist was aware of issues with contact lens saline solutions that contained timersol in 1979

Fluoridated water? DECADES before Alex Jones was born the Brits refused to fluoridate their water due to paranoia about the health effects. Generations of Brits have false teeth as a result.

GMO food? Same story. Alex Jones was no more at the forefront of fluoridated water, gMO foods or timerisol than Barry Obama was at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement. But if you keep repeating the story eventually someone will believe it to be true.

I suppose than Dr. Michael Savage is a nut bar too,
Yep. Before you start emphasing the "Dr." understand that his Dr is a Phd....not MD and was for studies in anthropology, not in medical school.

Alex Jones is an idiot.
Michael Savage is an idiot.
Both crave attention and will do or say anything to get more listeners.

Phrenology was a "science" that was highly endorsed by MANY "doctors".
Alex Jones throws the foulest smelling pooh he can find or dream up, at the biggest, most publically viewable wall there is...the internet. Luckily for him, this particular nugget might have stuck, and those occasional nuggets that stick are enough to endear him to his readers, who are content to ignore all the nuggets that don't.

Its not like he does any "journalism" or bothers with finding those pesky facts. When was the last time Alex Jones crawled out from behind his microphone or the occasional TV camera to investigate any of his claims?

What no one is mentioning is DHS trains thousands of police officers around the country. I have talked about this issue with local deputies. They all say that our sheriff tries to get every full time deputy to a DHS training center of some sort every year. We have a National Guard armory and equipment depot in the county. The sheriffs department has no facilities to train deputies to secure these facilities. All the deputies get their training from DHS to work in tandem with the National Guard in securing these facilities.

Now if our 25 deputies get all this training from DHS imagine how much training police officers get from all across the nation. Officers use guns and ammo provided by DHS for their training. The deputies say it's cheaper to send them to DHS for training than to use the state training facility operated by the Highway Patrol.

My theory is that it is a pump-n-dump scheme. They buy up all the ammo they can, drive the price up, release some security alerts, dump the ammo on the market and profit.... VOILA... DHS has a warchest of cash that can survive sequester, budget cuts, bankruptcy or whatever :neener:

Oh, boy. I can just see the news story when somone breaks in and steals a million rounds of DHS ammo from a portable storage site..............
