Jeezz all holy hell. I'm switching to DirecTV. They have the NFL Sunday Ticket anyways.:D

This excerpt from the article says it all.

"I think that's horrible," said Toni Kirkland, a customer at the gun range. "I mean, you pay for your advertisement. Condoms and porn sites get to pay, why can't a gun range?"

My problem is that while I normally put my money where my mouth is related to my wallet, I am stuck with Comcast in my area. Not that I would have wanted to leave as they have the fastest internet speeds compared with ATT and other DSL providers. Still I do not care for how they are essentially demonetizing firearms, yet promote other things like violent video games and what was quoted from the article.

We had Comcast, AT&T U-Verse blows it away! The only time Comcast was faster was 4-5AM when nobody else in the neighborhood was using it, even then not even close on thruput with all the 0 BPS outages.

I never could succeed downloading a Linux distribution CD with Comcast, never a second thought with U-Verse.

Maybe its better in League City, my friend's in Clear Lake sure seems to work better than ours ever did.

AT&T "bought out" our remaining DirectTV contract which was the worse thing ever.

Kill the TV. Set aside the money you spend on it, and imagine the new gun or cases of ammo you could buy for a year's TV money. Spend the time reading. Try some non-fiction. Improve yourself.

Just think of the lovely gun cabinets that be sitting where the TV is now?
Mmmmmmm....purdy!

Chandler (from "Friends"- yeah, that's how long it's been since I've had TV):

"You don't have a television? What's all your living room furniture pointed at?"

Gun cabinets are not a bad answer... or book shelves... or book shelves concealing a gun cabinet.

Seen it, have you? :p

Seriously, Comcast doesn't deserve your money OR your time and attention.

Crystal set radio is a good second hobby. Or carpentry... you could build the aforementioned book case concealing a 4-gun rifle rack.

Or read the Federalist Papers. All freedom- loving Americans should.

Uverse requires absolutely 100% terrible customer premise equipment to function though. If you needed it for any thing vaguely serious it fails terribly.

Yep! That's actually why I switched from U-verse back to Comcast; although not a problem most consumers have, not being able to create static routes on my RG and being forced to rent it for a monthly fee on top of my bill... Yeah. At least Comcast allowed me to use my own superior hardware. Even when I was working for AT&T installing their service (ungh)... The discount wasn't worth it.

maybe off topic but I have no doubt TV is mostly a negative impact on today's families. I have suggested using the TV for only watching productions that we purchase on DVD, no commercials, we get to choose viewing content. My wife and 2 kids reacted as though I suggested we move to the moon.

Sent them an e-mail from Dnaltrop's link.

My e-mail
I have just learned of Comcast's decision not to allow any new firearm related advertising in their programming. I find this greatly offensive and until the decision is reversed myself and several others will be asking friends and family to cancel/move their service. There are already dozens so far who have heard of this and we will spread the word to make sure your anti-American policies don't go unnoticed.

Please send them an e-mail and let others know what they're doing. These companies can't be allowed to do these kind of things without any backlash, if they do it will further erode the gun culture and alienate gun owners from other people.

TV is quite entertaining in a positive fashion and in an educational fashion when moderated correctly. My TV is paired pretty much constantly to my Xbox, which lets me blow off much-needed steam, watch movies with my wife comfortably on our couch and relax when I feel like it. It's nice to have.
