Yet Another Rumor on Why No .22 Ammo

From a hardware store owner in a small town this morning:

He said one of his suppliers claims there is a provision in Obamacare that now prevents manufacture of cartridges with lead bullets; other materials must be substituted for lead. Like what I don't know...

I know it sounds nutty, and I apologize to the moderators if this one has appeared before. And I know we are all grasping for explanations. But the Affordable Health Care Act has so much stuff in it, I thought I would consult more knowledgable folks than I on whether there is anything to this new (to me) explanation. Here's hoping he was misinformed.

My guy said it's a good year for sorgum because of the extra wooly caterpillars. I bought a few bricks of .22 to shut him up.

If that were the case then manufacturing of all ammo would have ceased (which it hasn't) and/or it would be pretty obvious that the ammunition that is being shipped would be made with a lead alternative (which it isn't).

Yes, it's true. There is a provision in Obama-care that says gullible people must pay more for politically incorrect activities. Shooting, smoking, drinking, breathing, etc.
The hardware store owner knew you were gullible, so by Obama-law, you have to pay more.

I will have a suggestion for the new republican government. All former supporters of Obama will be taxed at triple the normal tax rate until his debts are paid off. Their only other option is to renounce their citizenship and leave the country immediately.

The reason we have rumors like this is because:

(1) The people that rule over us are extremely devious.
(2) The press has abandoned its role as a watchdog and has come to be the government's propaganda arm.

So, like the Soviet citizens of old we have spend a lot of time reading between the lines and decoding government motives.

The only thing I am aware of is this:
California greenies push lead bullet ban to save scavenger birds from poison.

A Google of California Lead Bullets will bring up a dozen hits on the subject. That is the only thing regarding lead bullets that I can think of that comes remotely close.

Rumors like this stupid stuff will further induce panic buying of bullets. How stupid can people get?

In other breaking news I noticed the supply of toilet paper in Wal-Mart was about gone so I bought all I could. We are facing a recycled pulp paper shortage so stock up.
