I've been meaning to post this, but a while back I bought 10 rounds of "0000 buckshot" from this company... http://wolfhilltradingco.com/12-gauge-ultrabuck-magnum-0000-buckshot-2-34-10-rounds/ . I finally got around to patterning it a few months back. Well, I'm totally unimpressed. It put 3 of its 8 pellets into a widely spaced "pattern" from 40 yards on a 30" pattern target. Don't know where the others went. The load was very light recoil, but I don't shoot shotgun loads over my Chrony (don't wanna shoot the chrony) so I don't know the velocity. It felt weak is all I can say compared to 12 pellet Winchester 00, which patterns very well BTW. I was shooting from my old Sarasqueta double gun from the modified barrel.
I doubt any other choke would work with this stuff and I was skeptical of it when I got it in due to the fact that the pellets do not stack evenly AND they involve an overwad, not a crimp.
Anyway, if you were wondering about this stuff, be forewarned.
