Yep, until I see the need for a 650 or 1050, I will be happy with my 550.
I'm betting you will, too. :)

I love mine. The only thing is, you will load up all your components in about a day or two.

They make some really great ammo. It will motivate you to get out and shoot more because you won't have the dread of reloading all your pistol brass.

Enjoy!

Its my first press. Still reading ABC's of Reloading, and Lymans 49th. Gonna take it real slow. Got some X-Treme bullets, and I have brass. Just patiently searching for some Unique or Power Pistol, and primers.

Bought the 550 with the .40 S&W caliber kit, with Dillon carbide dies, ordered from BrianEnos only two weeks ago!

If you plan to load .40s&w, and want a very nice metering powder that shoots very soft, and accurate in .40s&w get some WST, or W231/HP38. I load WST for all of my match ammo, and can drop 10 charges of 3.8gr of WST and get exactly 38gr total, and no worse than 37.9gr or 38.1gr.

Which companies make WST and W231/HP38?

I'm using the Dillon powder measures. I load for .40s&w, .45acp with WST, and .38spl I use W231.

Bought my first 550 back in 1984 and liked it so well I bought my second 550 about 10 years ago. I leave one set up for large primers and the other on small primers. I load 38/357, 9mm, 44 mag, 45 acp, 223, 22-250, 30/30, 444 Marlin, 45/70, 7MM, so far and always looking for more. I still load some rounds on my Orange Crusher because my 45/120 will not fit on the 550's. Just have to love the550's.

I hope to taste some soon. We're trying to sell an old El Camino we've had sitting around taking up space. I think part of the money will go toward a 550. Man, I can taste it already. :)
