Differance between a Matchking and a Matchking Palma

The Sierra Matchking 155 gr 308 Cal have a "regular" and a Palma. The Palma is pointed and has a better BC. I see they are better for longer distance shooting.

I have used the regular ones but got a E flier for the Palma versions and debating on buying them. I am in no way a 500 yard shooter, but they are available and not much difference in price, so for 100-200 yard shooting is it worth getting them??

For a bolt action but will they work in a semi auto also due to the longer length?

Are you using the semi for matches? If so, you can only load one at a time anyway.

No, I am not a match shooter but but have a modified 700 that is capable of it.Our range is 100 and 200 yards. I just need bullets. I use the regular Matchkings and Noslers but there is nothing around here local, so I have to buy on line. These bullets are certainly more than I need or capable of but around the same price as general use ones.

I started reading about Palma until my eyes glazed over I am but a lowly range rat.
