I'm using CM 8-round Power Mags in my Springfield, no problems.

I'm partial to Wolff mags for my 1911s. They use ACT bodies with Wolff springs and followers, been carrying them for a couple of years and using them for competition and haven't had a problem with one yet.

Swear by Wilson 47Ds myself.

I'm kinda partial to Wolff springs products also.

Wilson has their ETM mags on sale right now. Their 47D's are also available on sale if you prefer those.

I've used the shooting star mags and they run well in my kimber. So do the power mags.

I love Tripp Cobra mags.

If the gun is set up as it's supposed to then all mags should work.

My Colt Combat Commander, made in 2012, works perfect will Wilsons, Chip McCormick, Colt, and Springfield Armory mags. So does my Springfield 'GI' 1911 made in 2007.

My Dan Wesson Patriot CBOB works only with GI mags like the Colts and Springfield Armory (actually it works with them all but won't hold open the slide on the last shot unless they are GI mags.)

My Kimber Gold Match Mk I works with them all to.

CMC PowerMags are good. I really like the Checkmate 8rd stainless tapered lip magazines - at one point they were OEM for Dan Wesson and Sig (and may still be).

I've never had any problem with the top brand 1911 mags or any of the good mfr mags (Wilson, Colt, Sig, Ruger, SA, etc). A properly tuned 1911 should tolerate generic GI mags, and that's my standard. I have purchased surplus packaged 1911 mags and those work fine for me.

I'm not sure who makes them these days, but I've had really good luck with Colt 8 rd mags.

Wilson ETM'S are the best in my book.....

I run ETM, 47D's, Powermags and ACT's.. I still have a few shooting stars that work good too.

I have the 2 original Para mags and a new Kimber mag (has the improved follower that doesn't dive forward) for my Para Expert; so far all 3 work great over several hundred rounds fired; the Kimber mags are carried everywhere in my local area...haven't seen many Chip McCormicks or Wilson Combats around recently

Wilson, Kimber, Tripp, CMC mags have always worked for me. Come to think of it, I rarely have had issues with mags, thankfully.

Has anyone personally tried these? Reliable?

Whenever someone has magazine related problem, I suggest Chip McCormick 8 round Power Mags and problem goes away.

They come in stainless or blackened stainless, which is a plus.

Sure there are - they're just longer than the original seven round versions so that you don't have to cut down the follower tail to make 'em fit in those eight rounds. That's the recipe that CMC and Tripp and Checkmate have used, to good effect. From the outside, the magazine looks like it has a bumper pad but it's actually an extended bottom....

You want flush fit mags? Get seven rounders. You want eight rounds in a robust and utterly reliable magazine? Expect to use a magazine that sticks out a bit at the bottom.

That is probably a typo. That is not a feature found in the Chip McCormick line-up. Wilson's ETM's have a longer tube like Tripp and CheckMate extended tube models. However, the McCormick PowerMag has the same length tube as the Wilson 47 (7 rounder) and 47D (8 rounder) which are shorter than Wilson's ETM.

I will agree on the Wilson and Tripp mags. Especially the Tripp mags. Had a Mcormick go bad and start causing jams at an IDPA match(though this can happen to any mag given time but this one was only about a year old), which spurred me to go through all my mags and take out any that were questionable and replace them. Found 2 mec gars that also didnt want to feed in my Smith 1911TA, (they both still feed fine in my STI Spartan) and replaced them with 2 Tripp and 1 Wilson, and I absolutely love them. They feed well and load easily.
