Has anyone used one? Im looking to appendix carry my P238 and am looking for a good holster. Desantis also makes a few that are quite a bit cheaper but I don't know which would be more comfortable.

I'm not much of an appendix carry guy, and I had to look up CrossBreed's appendix model since I wasn't familiar with it.

Most of the well respected appendix carry models I've seen have a much smaller footprint than the CrossBreed. The CrossBreed seems like a lot of holster to fit between your belt buckle and your hip bone. I suppose if it fits it should be a good holster as CrossBreed has a good reputation in general.

Some typical appendix rigs I've seen

It seems like it's too wide. The concept is good and if it works out I'm sure it'll be comfortable but just looks really wide at 12-1 o'clock position.

I'm currently using the Crossbreed AIWB holster with very good success. It appears large in the picture but is quite small for my Walthers PPS . Takes up a little more room on your belt than your traditional leather IWB holster. The clip ends up close to your belt buckle and the gun is at the 1:30 position. It has 3 positions for ride height and I use the highest rise. I am fit and have a flat stomach , about 5'9" 170lbs. I own several AIWB holsters in leather, and the Remorsa. I'm most pleased with the Crossbreed AIWB. Just my observations.

Just an observation as I don't own the crossbreed, but the clip is on the wrong side. The whole objective of a good aiwb is to pull the butt of the gun into the users body, thus concealing the most obvious part of the gun. With the clip on the opposite side of the butt, it leaves the butt free to flop around, especially on a larger gun.

Seems to me that if the holster is IWB, it is the belt and wasteband that "pull the butt of the gun into the users body". The main function of the clip is to position the holter vertically so it does not slide down into the pants or come out with the draw.

Sorry, but absolutely disagree. Anyone that has tried or does carry AIWB knows that the biggest complaint/issue is keeping the butt tucked in to make sure the gun stays concealed under a simple untucked t-shirt. Even on a small gun such as a Glock 26/27, it is easy to conceal the gun barrel and be comfortable, but getting the butt to stay tight against the body is key. I don't know your personal experience with this type of carry, but a 2 second search on Google will show countless ways of various holster makers trying to keep the butt tucked. The newest and most promising is via a "wedge" of some type that attaches to the backside (against your thigh/groin) of the holster near the barrel, thereby pushing the butt inwards.

Ok, I've carried several different guns AIWB in several different style holsters without any problems concealing the butt. Maybe I don't understand the problem, but I don't see how the location of the clip makes any difference to how closely the holster is held to the body since the clip is outside the waistband and the holster is inside.

OK, I said no problems, but I do have a bit of a problem with my BHP due to the thickness fo the butt. I guess a Glock would be similar but I don't own any Glocks. So maybe I can learn something here, but I just can't visualize it.

If the clip was on the other (butt) side, it would automatically pull the butt in tighter by not allowing it to flop around. There is a fine line between having the gun concealed and having the gun concealed AND easy to draw from holster. Not knowing what you have carried, I would imagine that what you have carried is both small and deep in the waistband. A lot of people like to carry deep as it is vastly more concealable, but try drawing from deep carry in a hurry. It simply is not going to happen.

So when the gun is carried at a height that allows for gripping the gun fully before drawing, it places the butt higher. Then the issue of seeing the end of the butt poking at the t-shirt becomes much more noticeable. That in turn needs to be rectified by taking the barrel portion of the holster and pushing it outwards away from the body. That in turn pushes the butt in, hence the wedge design.

Now all of this assumes a person is carrying something bigger than a mouse gun, and also assumes a fairly normal fitting t-shirt vs one 2 sizes too big.

Again, this set up is needed mostly for t-shirt type carry, because obviously if it is winter dress or a button down loose fitting shirt, all that butt stuff goes out the window.

Hopefully, I explained it well enough to get a visualization.:)

It's very difficult to recommend an AIWB holster because it all depends on the person's body. You just about have to try a few to find the right one.

I will say that the ones JTQ mentioned above I consider to be the best available.
