I hate screw-on lids, so unlike most I keep the slip-on lids for pellets that came with a screw-on. I've also used the same slip-on tins for things that coil up but don't want to stay that way, like a strip of paper that holds orange stick-on dots (targets). Also good for a gun cleaning kit, but I think my fav is survival kit stuff, like fire starting, fishing, first aid, etc.
On a reverse thought, what do people use for pellets instead of pellet tins? I almost always use a tin, or my pocket, but I've discovered "Ice Breakers" breath mints boxes and Altoids boxes for pellets, and all kinds of other stuff. Actually I don't even like Altoids, but I buy the little mini tins and toss the mints. The small tin makes for perfect storage of a small quantity of pellets. For example I keep my pistols in either soft zip-up or plastic cases where a normal pellet tin can't fit. It's just nice to have some pellets right there in the gun case...
