Ok since I last checked in I have bought and returned three rifles. Shot around 2,500 pellets and have had a lot of fun shooting at steel reseting targets.
I tried the the QB 78 in .177. I bought it from Midway but unfortunately it would leak out all of it's CO2 within 45 seconds out of the valve. I fired it 45 times trying to get the air valve to seat but no such luck. I even tried Pelgun oil hoping it would help seat the valve. I was concerned about the quality of the other one as well so canceled my back order for the .22 model.
The Hatsan 95 I had came with a very stiff trigger even though I adjusted it as light as the limiting screws would go. I could not get it to group well at all. So after a tin of 500 of its preferred pellets , cleaning the barrel multiple times to get it to stop dieseling, mounting three different scopes on it and around a dozen other pellet types back in the box it went to Airgun Depot.
I decided to shoot my Shadow and shoot it I did. Nearly 700 shots in the course of a day and a half. I really enjoy the upgraded trigger and I am starting to get used to the horrible spring thrashing noises. While I am no marksman with it I can usually hit 1" spinners at 35 yards which is good for me with this rifle.
It is much more challenging than my PCP's . I plan on continuing my quest for other alternatives in the cheap air gun arena.
One thing to note if you see some Swiss Arms of Serbia pellets they seem to shoot the best out of the Shadow and are less than a penny a piece. "Caveat "I have gone through three tins and one tin was under sized but the quality of the other two are on par with JSB's. Hit or miss for quality I guess.
That's the report.
Any one else experimenting with new guns? Or pellets?
