I saw some in Wally World yesterday. I don't remember how much it was, but at least it's starting to come back. And I'm pretty certain the price will come down when supply gets back to normal.

What I have noticed, is that powder prices are coming down some. I bought several pounds of powder on Saturday, IMR-7828 and H4831, it was $28, which isn't too awfully high, considering I've been seeing it as high as $32 per pound, just recently too.

Speaking of 22lr, I was at the range a week ago and found a new unopened 500 or 550 round box on the ground under my bench, score! And since I was the first guy to sign in that morning, I knew it wasn't left there that morning. It was the good stuff too, bronze plated HP, Remington I think, can't remember, it's in my ammo cabinet.

well I wish it was here as i'm totally out and are needing some to go shooting with my dad again as they only give him so many years to live now and with the ammo shortage well its stopped the special time shooting with my dad!!

Haven't seen any here either.

They've been banging the same drum for about a year now, basically that hoarders are responsible.

But, I'd think that the hoarders' cellars would be full to the brim by now!

I dunno what's going on.

I don't view 10 cents a round plus shipping as the shortage being solved.

Same thing here in Southern Utah 10 Cents a round is nothing but price gouging IMHO

ATK should just invest in producing 10,000,000 boxes of Federal 550 packs to be sold for the prepanic price of $18.67 at Walmart. That'll fix the shortage. The heck with billions of hollow point rounds for the weather service, etc...

Supply Up, Price... Still Up

Local large hardware/sporting goods store ran an ad in their Labor Day sale: 550 rd cans of 22 bulk for $56 + tax. I am still shooting bricks of Winchester/Rem I bought in the late 90's/early '00-'02 for $9.99/brick. I bought a lot of it, and still have ~8-10 bricks. If it ever comes back down (within reason) I will stock up again...

Still to high prices, normal LR's at gunbot are 10 cents a round. The 550 bricks should be 4 cents around, I don't mind paying 10 cents for the copper CCI's, that is about the only round my Jennings J-22 will shoot without an FTE.

Was buying it 160-170 bucks for 5000 pre Obama. I bought 20 thousand. Same supplier on auction is getting 450 bucksfor the same 5000

I haven't found an online supplier that will sell by the case ............. would you tell us who this supplier is?

Can not open link to read...

Supply in southwest lower michigan is still slim. Most places still don't have it. Those that do are still restricting to 1 to 4_50 round packs in the $5 range. Two local stores do have 500 round bricks but they are about $50 so still a long ways from "normal" or is this the new normal.
Try the link in my post...

Agreed. I bought BE-86 pistol powder at a gunshow recently for 26 a pound, a little high, but under the 35 to 40 I was seeing on pistol powders.

Too late.
Got fed up trying to keep my trusty .22s going a couple of years ago and switched to airguns.
Don't even miss the rimfires anymore.

There has to be some BS somewhere about all the .22 being manufactured. Most stores have a limited supply. This is a free country and hoarding is legal. I don't agree with it and it causes inconvenience for those of us who actually shoot, but again, it's a free market. I won't pay more than .08 each no matter how much I need it. When the supply comes back, a lot of guys will be stuck with a ton of ammo that they planned to make a mint on. As long as people pay inflated prices, the price will be up. I have a decent supply but when my wife and I shoot a steel match we use about 300. Doesn't take long for that supply to dwindle to nothing. When the supply is back to normal and price at 4-5 cents a round, I'll probably buy at least 10,000 rounds.

You and me and a bunch of other people. Guess what that will mean to the demand and cost of. 22s. :D

Oh well - it may be a while.

That's the same mentality I think a lot of us have. Never to be caught short again. kinda think that's what's still keeping shelves empty in my area

This weekend I was down in Columbus, Ohio so did my mandatory visit to Cabela's. They had Federal American Eagle Ammunition 22 Long Rifle High Velocity 38 Grain Copper Plated (Not to be confused with the lower priced LRN bullets) at $2.41 a single box of 50. Unfortunately no bricks or large bulk packs. So about 4.8 cents a round. When they have the 10 box bricks they sell for around $21 or about 4.2 cents per round. Overall not a bad price for the stuff.

The ad is all screwed up - you have no idea what you're ordering?

The picture is of Winchester 333 - if you select offerings in the box, it shows as 50 rounds of 22 Birdshot.

Are you getting Winchester 333, or 50 rounds of #12 birdshot?

Oh, I see what you mean. My bad on that and really is my bad as Cabela's points out the picture is not a what you see is what you get. I didn't buy any but was too quick on the trigger. Many thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks
Ron

Back in January, my wife and I both got an email that Cabelas was offering 100 round box of Winchester for $6.99 free shipping. We made separate orders immediately. Every month we got backordered emails. I finally wrote a scathing email that I thought they had no intention of honoring the order. Two weeks later I received my order. My wife did not receive her order and today got another backordered email. Not very happy with Cabelas.
