Will do, just give me till morning.

Just out of curiosity, what is it you are doing that you need these measurements? Adding a magazine extension possibly?

My conclusion several years ago was to not try and remove mag tube dimples on a multi-use 870. It's more trouble than it's worth IMO and it opens the door to a new set of potential botherations, like keeping the mag tube cap on without the factory retention mechanisms (old or new) in place. Yes, there are workarounds to that, if you want to go that route. And 'ironing' out dimples should be done very carefully, lest the threaded end of the mag tube get distorted.

However, it's your shotgun...

Oops, sorry, I forgot about your thread. I'll take those measurements right now and have them posted in a few minutes.

Those dimensions can't be right. The rim of a 2 3/4" Rio 00 Buck 12 gauge shell alone measures on my calipers out to .878" which makes it wider than the OD of the tube you measured. Sure you're not measuring a 20 gauge or something?

The OD of the mag tube of my 870 Express Magnum, parkerized, is 1.007" and the OD of the factory mag tube extension is exactly 1.000"
ID is about .918"
