This is also a 1/2 scale M16A1. It was not made to fire. But is exact right down to the detent pins.

Totally misread your reply...To meet the 26" OAL, the barrel will be longer than 16"
Well, gonna be held up for a few days on further progress. Was cutting a new barrel nut with a smaller ID on the lathe and let the smoke out of my phase converter.
Seems they could manufacture electronics these days, without putting smoke inside!!
