When wife got pregnant with our daughter, she made me sell things I didn't use on a regular basis:
- Dune buggy/original Meyers (she said I could always get a replacement - So far, not successful)
- Karmann Ghia project (Will replace project with Scout 80/800 after retirement)
- KX250/YZ125 (they were replaced with Yamaha quads)
- Safe full of rifles and pistols (she said if I hadn't shot in 6 months, I probably won't shoot them later)
After 16 years, I really regret having sold the Meyers dune buggy and many firearms that I cannot find replacement for. What I particularly miss are the German Sig 226 and Norinco 1911 heavily fortified with Wilson Combat parts I started shooting matches with. As to rifles, Chinese NHM 91. It was a soft shooting tack driver I will likely never find another one in new condition. I could find another FAL but I really did like the one I had (but considering an AR10 build to ease the memories).
If these were the firearms you have "thinned" from the others pistols you sold off, there may have been a good reason why. Instead of torturing yourself which ones to keep/sell, I would consider the option of generating extra cash to buy what you want.
If your boss (wife) has issues, I found doing things that really matters to my wife and special projects she values softened her perspectives to the point where she would suggest that I am due for another gun purchase.
