Largest handgun You've ever tried to Conceal Carry?

I did one time, years back carry "concealed" a 7.5" Blackhawk .45 Colt. At the time my only carry gun was gone getting refinished and the only other gun I had was the Blackhawk. I carried it in one of those rather cheap nylon Velcro holsters, so it wasn't real concealed probably, but it was wintertime and I was wearing a long jacket.

My biggest "normal" carry gun is my Glock 35, it can conceal pretty well all things considered.

Today in AZ heat, out and about in Gilbert.

CZ SP-01 Phantom, but I replaced the short 16 round mag with the original 18 round mag. Works just fine under a loose t-shirt.

I don't think I could carry my Scorpion concealed during the summer months...

Might be a bit difficult since I don't have a folding joint on that Thordsens, but when I do manage that, well, this setup worked for me in the past...

And the answer is yes, I DID actually carry a vz-58 around town in a covert carry bag. Why? I wanted to see if anyone would say anything or even notice it. Nothing. I did it once and haven't done it again.

On the other hand, this bag from 5.11 would make carrying the Scorpion a snap...

A S&W M69 44mag 5", I regularly carry a full size 1911 and Beretta 92fs. All OWB with a untucked shirt or shirt tucked in and a jacket on.

Full size Coonan .357 mag..strong side hip. Covered more than concealed because I usually carry it when I have a sweatshirt on in the winter. I'll carry it in the summer if I'm wearing a long shirt untucked. I'm 6'1 and 260 so it's not "too" heavy as I usually carry a full size 1911 when not carrying the Coonan.

I know a guy...

His name is Jeff. He is 5' 6" and weighs about 165 pounds, tops. He routinely carries a an 8 3/8" S&W 29. I never knew until he pulled it out one day at a gun shop.

5 1/2" Redhawk in 44 mag. Worked well in a shoulder holster in the winter months. I also carry a full size 1911 IWB or OWB depending on what I'm wearing all year round.

Now I know a everyone's going to say the whole "get a good holster and gun belt and you can carry anything" spill. This has not been my experience...
Now, a good holster and belt are crucial to help conceal and be comfortable while doing it, but that doesn't mean I could carry my FNX Tactical 45 with me to church on Sundays without feeling a little conspicuous.

Exactly.

The largest I've concealed is my Glock 19.

A lot of times what people think passes for inconspicuous isn't at all. Sometimes it's funny, what we think no one sees, someone is seeing but not commenting.

That's why i have my wife check me.

True. But then, there's Deep Cover, Well Concealed, Reasonably Well Concealed, Casually Concealed, and "just something draped over it."

Not every situation requires your gun be completely undetectable from all angles, to a trained eye. Concealed is concealed, but good enough is good enough, much of the time.

The largest handgun I carried on a regular basis is a Colt SAA 5.5" in .357, the only handgun I owned for quite a while. I had a few different setups for it including an Uncle Mike's shoulder holster and a couple of belt holsters. Sometimes it was a bit unwieldy, but it was always doable.

My brother used to carry a Colt Officers Model Target with a 7.5" barrel. He's not a big guy, but it didn't show at all when he carried it.

The largest?

Well, I've carried my Beretta 92FS, which is the widest full sized I've ever carried concealed.

I've carried my AMT Automag II, which is the longest I've ever concealed.

I routinely carry my Colt 1991A1, full sized .45 ACP.

One day, however, I WILL conceal carry a .475 Wildey Magnum with a 12 inch barrel. In an IWB.

Just because I want to get a rise out of some people.

Which, of course, will only happen AFTER I buy said .475 Wildey Magnum with a 12 inch barrel...

And when I do get said Wildey...I'm contacting CraigC about making the holster. I figure if I'm going to get stupid-silly about it, a fellow THR member might as well profit from my folly.

;)

G21 + gov model 1911. The full size 1911 was easier. As for people saying "i'm not a big guy so..." I'm 5' 11" but I concealed much easier before the gut :)

I want one of these Coonans so badly!

Largest concealed is probably either a Para Limited or a Ruger Alaskan.

6" s&w 586 in a vertical shoulder holster
6" 686 in a vertical shoulder harness, but that was in winter with a short coat over it. A cop pointed out to me one evening that the bottom of the holster was quite evident when I sat down or raised my arms. I stopped carrying it after that. Too cumbersome, anyway.

I tried to carry my full size 1911 IWB, but just found it too heavy to be comfortable for me.

Perhaps a better belt would help.
