Always trying for more comfortable concealed carry

Never have liked nylon or Kydex, but they work for some.

The one thing I wish I had done many years earlier was to buy a good quality gun belt. These are typically two layers of heavy leather sewn together, but there are other styles. They make a difference in comfort of carry and sometimes in how well the holster stays up against my body. Put up with lesser belts for years before I finally tried one. Now I have three and may pick up another.

You just have to do it. It will work out

True about working it out.

Case in point, I started with good leather holsters and belts and my true revelation was good nylon belts and kydex holsters.

Increased both my ability to carry heavier guns, bigger guns, and far more comfortable. Plus I hate that leather creak sound walking around, my wife used to make fun of me all the time.

With how hot I get in the summer and always carry even doing sweaty stuff I also appreciate the fact that neither kydex nor nylon absorb by sweat and get wet and heavy, plus leather holster always feel hotter to me in the summer.

But as you say, it's a long journey we each have to take and hopefully we all get to that "sweet spot" eventually. Bonus if we can do it without a whole drawer/box/tote/basement full of failed holsters, mag carriers and belts.

My wallet is more trouble than my pistol. Like others, I've accumulated receipts, notes, business cards, etc., and have to clean it out every so often. Even doing that, I have a badge, credit cards, DL, CHCL, insurance cards, ......

My "wallet problem" is partially solved with another wallet problem. I occasionally venture forth, to discover my wallet is in my other pair of pants.
So, I carry 1 form of ID, as well as an ATM card, in my phone case, in the event I get halfway to town, and have left my wallet at home.. Which also helps to thin out my wallet. Two birds, one stone.

I think I'm going to get a front pocket wallet. I'm also going to try paying for more stuff with my phone.

The reason my wallet gets fat is that twenty dollar bills turn into a five and a bunch of singles, and pretty soon I'm sitting on an inch worth of small bills.

I keep a Rohrbaugh R9 in my front right pocket. I'm not sure how keeping my wallet in the front left pocket is going to work out.

Here are a bunch of pictures.

Yay !

Are you going to contribute or just snipe?

My billfold is a pain in the ass, and the leg. It starts in my ass and radiates to my leg. It usually starts when I'm driving. Now when it starts I take my wallet out of my back pocket immediately and throw it in the console.
For many decades, general practice (GP) or family practice (FP) physicians have used the walletectomy to deal with low back pain of business men. They ask to see the wallet. If it comes from a back pocket, the doc tells the guy to start carrying it in a front pocket. I discovered this in my 20's when I was having the same low back pain, and have used front pocket ever since.
The issue is that sitting on a fat wallet on one side causes the lower spine to tilt at an awkward angle. I suppose you could buy to matching wallets, fill them to be the same thickness, and have on in each back pocket.

I don’t hear anybody taking about the belt that holds up your pants and supports your gun!

Hear me out... I been wear these for years. It’s the inner velcro belt of a rig belt. It’s stiff, very light weight, and infinity adjustable on the fly. Try it out! cheapest buy ever!

just the inner belt

I think the metal detectors at ballparks are on a lower setting than courthouses or airports. I go to the ballgame and when I go to take off my belt they tell me "you don't have to take off your belt" but then I set off the metal detectors because I wear a Bullhide steel core gun belt. So I tell them "My belt has a steel core to it" and they get the weirdest look on their faces.

I have yet to find an IWB I like and is all day comfortable, I carry a LC9 3:30 owb in a simple fobus holster, comfy, does not get in the way, etc. For those times I need a little more concealability, I carry an LCP in a pocket holster. This is what works for me.
