I don't know if he's ever posted this one, but this is where my Brother and I hang out. 1911sr:)

Dad is looking for a Nightstand duty gun.

I carry a revolver and keep one on my nightstand. I don't want to have to think about cycling my .45 when I'm half asleep or surprised and overexcited. I also don't like the idea of my semi-auto being locked and loaded on the nightstand. 1911sr

    Women

Me. My Brother and I grew up together and we both wore pants. When I reached 12 Dad said "Ok. One of you put on a dress." So we flipped a coin and I put on the dress!:D 1911sr

    Gun Cleaning

But don't forget that if you use the boresnake from the chamber end you must also use a mop that fits the chamber to clean it, no? Lots of guys forget that part. :^)

    Reloading for 7.5 Swiss

Good morning. Typically I'm up at 4am but I don't know her password so I did have to wait for her to crawl out of bed. heh............. She's right about the rifles. Virtually all k31s that have come into my possession have been excellent shooters. The Swiss know how to care for and store a...

    Reloading for 7.5 Swiss

Sorry, Matt. He's gone out to the recording studio, but maybe I can answer some of it, no? It looks like the part number on all of ours is 33501. I hope the newer ones have the same number! The hunting bullet I like best is the Sierra 180 grain Spitzer Boattail. Anything near the 175 weight...

    Reloading for 7.5 Swiss

Here he is! :^) Good afternoon, Matthew. This is a touchy subject in some circles, so I'll do my best to avoid any coloration of the history. I've been working with Swiss rifles since the late 50s. I've been developing load data since 1963 as the manuals then extant were erroneous in...

    K-31 bought

Hi, Sandy! Actually, the GP11 isn't match. Swiss match cartridges only came out last year and they're boxer. The maker is RUAG, the people who own the original factory. The GP11 is the issue cartridge that began in 1911 and has been used in the 1911sr, the k11, the k31, the zfk3155 and the...

    Neck Split in AR15

Nero is right! Neck sizing is for bolt actions and it doesn't work well in ALL bolt actions. NEVER neck size for autoloaders. The tolerance will be much too tight and ruin brass besides the possibility of an accident. It would be very unusual for once-fired-brass to split in the neck. :^)

    ball / stick powder,,,

Ball powder is held together with a coagulant. Stick, or log, is extruded powder. Ball powder is usually much faster burning and goes through powder measures easier. Extruded powders usually burn slower but, in large calibers, are usually more accurate. :^)

    Reloading for 7.5 Swiss

I'm afraid I won't explain it right, so I asked Dad if he would come in here and tell you about it. He'll be home from the studio after 3 mountain time. I'll have him post under my name cuz he's not a member here. :^)

What's the story behind your screen name?

1911sr Mine means 1911 Schmidt Rubin, the rifle that's my favourite of all the ones I shoot. 1911 is the year they first made this model. :^)

    Sig AMT

We still have three of them. We don't shoot them much cuz we're into the other Swiss rifles like the k31 and the 1911sr, but I can tell you that My FNs are more acurate for autoloaders. Our PE57s are much more accurate too and Dad says it's because the PE57s use the 7.5 Swiss cartridge and the...

    Reloading for 7.5 Swiss

Ok, Mathew. Its sorta fun here. You'd be surprised how many guys won't even respond to a post from a girl. Anyway, this is a link to Dad's reloading data. http://www.swissrifles.com/sr/pierre/data.html You will find loads with that powder in there. There are other links in there for Dad's...

Matt, I wish you had bitten it deeper and bought the RCBS, or at least talked to someone experienced first. :^)
