Thanks for the info guys. :)

Um, no I actually don't reload. I guess I should be embarassed. :) Since my gun collection is growing exponentially, I guess I should seriously consider reloading.

Yup, Demise, you need to reload. If you do, your reloaded 7.5 Swiss ammo will cost you about the same as reloaded .308 ammo. Which, in my case, is under $6 per 20, using some pretty good bullets.

I forget to mention that you should keep the Swiss match G-11 brass because you can convert them in to boxer prime case. I drill the hole right where the firing pin strike the primer and then plied the spend primer out and continue to drill the hole in the primer pocket to make a flash hole . This primer pocket will be bigger than US primer so I use piece of paper to cover the primer pocket before I prime the case. So far I load this is case about 4 times already and it still work . This Swiss rifle also quite accurate with cast bullet . Now $180 for 480 rounds doesn't seem so bad if that 480 brass can be convert to boxer prime. You have got to start reload this beauty soon.

Hi, Sandy! Actually, the GP11 isn't match. Swiss match cartridges only came out last year and they're boxer. The maker is RUAG, the people who own the original factory.
The GP11 is the issue cartridge that began in 1911 and has been used in the 1911sr, the k11, the k31, the zfk3155 and the PE57. All of them use the GP11.
The only match brass for the 7.5 Swiss is from RUAG itself, and it is available as both brass and loaded cartridges, but so is the new brass from Grafs and Dad says his runout on that brass last summer shows that its every bit as good as RUAG. We have many thousands of Norma and RUAG brass and cases of GP11, but we only shoot the GP11 in the PE57s cuz our own loads shoot better in the SRs, the k31s and the zfk3155s.
But, guess what. We seldom shoot the PE57s or AMTs cuz its MUCH more fun to shoot the other Swiss rifles. I love my 1911sr.

:^)

1911sr sorry for the incorrect information , so the G11 is not match but it is berdan prime? and RUAG is match ammo and boxer prime? Where can I obtain the RUAG brass? Graf and son still out of 7.5 brass as well as Huntington (I still waiting for 7.7 x58 that was suppose to be here in August) .

I finally got my K31. It's a beauty! The metal is in perfect shape. The receiver looks almost new, and the only real wearing of the blue is on the bottom of the magazine. The stock is in really good shape too.

I do have another question though: where can I find out what the manufacture date was? swissrifles.com gives a range, but not any specifics. The serial of my rifle is 585xxx.

Like it a lot. Got it from Big-5 the other day, and the more I examine it the more I marvel at the simplicity and beauty of its design. The bolt is so smooth, it's incredible. Will be taking it to the range saturday on a Boy Scout shoot. Just might let some of the scouts shoot it...They could use a break from rimfires and 28 gauges....
