C/O- YES! your early TT P229 most definitely qualifies for membership! Very nice :) I just found a set of Sig logo'd Crimson Trace laser grips for my P239 SAS. IMHO, this is the ultimate CCW set up for the warmer summer months.

agent41- The date code for your W.German P226 will look like this - Your P6 will have the month and year stamped on the right side of the slide. I just added this P220 9mm to the "family". It was made in 1983 and has the European style magazine release.

    sig disassembly manual?

Do yourself a favor and get the Sig Armorers DVD. It covers in detail how to strip your Sig all the way down. You can get it from Top Gun Supply. I'd also recommend buying a "parts kit" from him at the same time (shipping is the same), especially if you bought your Sig used. Many of the...

Need advice on trading a handgun out of state.

I need some advice as to how to cover my butt for making a trade of a handgun. I'm in Pa and the person I'm trading with is in Tennessee. I trust the person to ship his gun and hold up his end of the deal. My concern is what proof do I have that I sold the gun in case it ends up in the...

As 9mmepiphany said, It is VERY important to keep your rails greased - especially on the ST models. Change your springs every 5K rounds and your Sig should last you a long time. Do you have any pictures of those that you could post as a reference? Sig still makes the P232 which basically a...

hankdatank1362 Thanks :) redfireftr- Your P229 is sweet! I saw them advertised when they came out and was very tempted to get one. Personally, I like it just the way it is, but its yours so make it they you want it. I love the reverse TT look. If the frame is steel, its just like my P229ST...

New (to me) P230SL I got this P230SL from a friend that I've worked with and known for over 20 years. He bought it new in 1993. He shot less than 100 rounds through it. The gun, the box, and all of the papers are in mint condition.

Size of Sig 239 vs Sig 229 vs Sig P6

Here are some pictures that might help with the size difference between a P239 and a P225 (same size as a P6). The P239 has the finger grove grips. I don't have any size comparison pictures between a P239 and a P229 (I'll have to take some). The actual size of a P229 is very...

    Which Sig P220 to buy?

I'm with Rexter regarding the DAK trigger. I prefer Sigs with the DAK trigger for CCWs and a house gun.

I picked up two .40S&W cases that looked exactly like that at my range a couple of months ago. I kept them just as a reminder to pay attention to which ammo goes into which magazine when I'm shooting different calibers. Hopefully your gun is OK.

Time to restart this thread. Anybody get a P220 with the new external extractor?? If so, how is it as far as reliabilty goes?

    Sig P220 External Extractor?

What 9mm said. It does not sound like an extractor problem. Usually the slide not locking back is caused by the shooter riding the slide release with their thumb. Your P226 has a fatter grip due to the double stack mag which might explain why it doesn't happen when you shoot it.
