    Alatriste: Slaughterer's Knife

I've seen this type of knife used while butchering hogs when I was a kid. The ho g would be held on his back. A cut would be made next to his wind pipe and the knife would be turned to cut the heart arterys and then straightend to miss the wind pipe while pulling it out. They were normally...

Having complete confidense in your reloads

I've been in hunting camps and on trips all over the US. I always chuckle when the boys tell how much a fancy box of factory loads cost. Except for my very first deer when i was young. All big game I've shot were with handloads that I loaded.

How do you store/transport your pistol reloads?

All my bullets I use milk cartons cut at 4 inches. Loaded in one and empties in another. My range box is eight inches wide so they sit in it side by side. Very simple system. The older I get the less stuff I buy .

    .30-06 cast bullets

I shoot cast every week in a 30-06 and have for the last four years. Great Fun. My go to load is 13 grains of Unique behind a 31499 sized .312 in my US model 1917 or a 311644 sized .310 in a Sears rifle. Both shoot out to 200 yards good. Not recoil and cheap to shoot. I'm planning on something...

Feb 28th NY Rally was excellent!

Indian Lake / Blue Mountain Lake association ? No I do not belong to that. I do spend some time in the area fishing. My hunting is a little east of there in North Hudson. It's a great area. Mike

I was there also. Too bad we don't know each other we could have said Hello. Anyway we need to beat this. I can't believe stuff I have now will need to be sold out of state. These people are crazy. Mike

    30-06 for a 13 year old?

I shoot reduced loaded 30-06 all the time. I shoot a lot and have no interest in factory loads. Cast suits me fine. I'd bet they would do great on hogs. I say the 06 is they way to go.

    NY Legal Semiauto rifles?

I feel most of this will be beat. I live in very rural upstate. I would pay no attention to their foolish new law. Who does he think he is Hitler ? The problem for me is he's stopping mail order reloading supplies. Now I will have them sent to a family member in of all places New Jersey. Just...

    Eddy stone 1917

I've got one. I only shoot cast bullets with unique powder. Light recoil out to 400 yards with the ladder sight. A great old rifle

Anyone else getting back to the caliber basics

I've hunted with a 280 for years . I probably always will . My range gun is 30-06 I shoot with cast bullets. Lots of fun and simple . I like others have had them all but I enjoy the cast bullets . Every time I go on a hunting trip with the short mag crowd I just chuckle . I also love a 22...
