38 Special vs 357 Magnum - Snub Nose

My shooting buddy was fascinated with .357 in the smaller frame revolvers including the lcr. After a bit of that he rethought that scenario. Sore hand, too much blast and flash. Yes it's possible to carry these, but really .38 +p is plenty out of these lighter guns. On a side note we have a...

    Glock 42 380 ammo recommendations

One thing to check is the magazines. They did 2 different updates to the mags I believe. 02 designation stamped on the latest update. I load underwood 102gr brass hp, same bullet as the rem golden saber. They work well. (380's can be a pain sometimes)

    Smith 13-4 $

I have a real nice model 13 with the 3 inch barrel. Not using it much anymore and might sell to my local shop. Just wondering what a fair price might be these days? I would say it is in VG condition, hardly a mark on it. Has the box and original grips. Cheers.

Quest for the "ideal for you" carry gun

Glock 42 with PJ's kydex IWB holster. I have a milt sparks summer special that I bought years ago for a sigma 380 (long gone now). The 42 fits perfect in it, but the pjs kydex is thinner, smaller and is a little more comfortable. I also have a Taurus view (non-view) .38, fits in front pocket...

    S&W Bodyguard 380

I have no experience with the BG, I own a Glock 42. It seems everybody I know or heard from has some trouble with .380,s. They just are not as reliable as a 9 it seems. When the 42 was new it had a couple ftf issues. now broken in it runs well with the right ammo. They all tend to like ball...

First Gun Purchase - SemiAuto vs Revolver

I own both but over the last couple of years I notice I am not using the revolvers much anymore. Autos are so much more ergo friendly and easier to shoot for me. For new shooters a revolver is a good choice, inherently safe and easy to live with. But as you move along with experience you will...

    New Handgun for Outdoors

Glock 10mm, or even the long slide in 40. I know everybody hates the 40 now, but with hot 180gr out of the longer barrel it is pretty effective.

    Holster belts

I bought a belt on e bay, described as an amish leather gun belt. WOW, the thickest nicest belt I have ever seen. And not overpriced like so many. In three or four colors. 1.5 or 1.75 width, highly recommend. Just ebay up gun belt and you will see them. The only belt I have ever had to break in!

What is the caliber of your Every Day Carry pistol?

Glock 42 iwb holster, or have a Taurus view (with the non-view plate) that really disappears in a pants pocket. I have the only one that I have ever seen. I guess most folks didn't get it, but its got to be the smallest .38 five shot out there. Super light too. I load Hornady 110gr critical...

    Pick for .380 ammo

Is there any consensus on a carry load for the 380 pistols that is readily available and functions at least most of the time well. I've seen a lot of online crap some super long tests and others just winging it. I have a 42, and it shoots well. Cheers.

I carry a Smith model 10 snub for defense.

I just traded in a model 64 snub for a wonder 9. As much as I love the aesthetics and nostalgia it just was somewhat useless for me. Too heavy, not as much fire power (6 rounds) and somewhat hard to hit even at closer range. Don't get me wrong, I have and use several revolvers and sometimes...

Which would you carry between a 357, 5 shot snubby, or a 9mm single stack 7 round pistol

I used to be a revolver guy, citing the simplicity and reliability as the main factors. But in recent years as I bought and handled more of the polymer 9,s and 40,s I was just shooting them so much better than any snub I had. The compact 9 is absolutely a better choice today. The 43 is probably...

    SCCY pistol quality

I have a CPX-2 that I bought about 3 years ago. I have found it to be a pretty good quality gun. It always shoots and functions fine for me. The trigger is a bit long and firm, but for a defensive handgun it works ok. I use this as a "car" gun (have a truck too). I feel confident it will work if...

    Walther Creed

Got it out for the first time today for an outdoor shoot. It handles really well, no hiccups, and god the trigger is good. Had a friend with who shoots a bunch of his own guns and rentals at the range, he thought it was the best polymer handgun trigger he has tried. Kind of like a really good...

    Calibers, pick 2 of 3 (9mm, 40s&w, 45acp)

9 is back big time, as if it ever went away. I have 2 .40's and like them very much, not sure why people think it's too much pop, I find it pleasant to shoot. As mentioned above I think of the .45 as a 1911 round and I don't have one so no .45 for me. Cheers.
