I have brought that same question up with Western at least twice, but they keep referring me to the GS data. 5.2gr Silhouette gave me 990fps. This is the load I settled on when I still had Silhouette. It was close enough. BTW, when I chrono the HST’s, they come in at 1014fps.

I misspoke (mistyped?) when I wrote 1200fps. I'd be happy if I could reach 1140-1150fps with the Silhouette. With the plated bullets, Ramshot shows loads up to 6 or 6.1gr. I'm just not sure how that translates to my Zero jhp.

Is there a better alternative in a non-flake powder to get to, say, 1200fps ? N340 will come close, but as we all know, it's pricey.

This pistol looks very interesting. The trigger pull may be great out of the box (I don't know....I've never tried one), but if it isn't, does the FN shop do any kind of custom work like a trigger job ? Or do they strictly handle repair/warranty work ?

Thanks for the replies. I thought there would have been more. I wonder if that is indicative that most people don't recheck their loads when switching lots, or indicative of nothing at all.

I'm just curious....for those of you who check such things, how much variation have you noticed switching from one lot to another of a particular powder ? Was the variation enough to cause you to alter your load ?
