Yes, it has the plastic clamp and insert. I had to change to a new one after about 2000 rounds, ordered 3 new clamps and 10 inserts.

If the slide doesnt lock back(I assume its after the last round in the mag) then its more than likely the magazine. Try another one

I have a glock 23 and about 6 1911 types in .45 the 45 in no more likely to over penetrate than the .40. Get a reputable 185 gr hollowpoint and enjoy. The sig is a great gun, do not get rid of it, but add to your collection with the glock 23. You wont be dissappointed. Trust me!
