    Guns on base in Cali.

When transferred to CA, a person in the military can bring banned firearms in the state and register them.

    Henry AR-7

I have a Henry AR-7 and love it. Bought it last summer and it has never given me any problems. Eats anything I feed it.

So I acquired a locked safe...

Geraldo Rivera = Jerry Rivers There is a rumor (Snopes says it is false) that Geraldo used the name Jerry Rivers during his early career.

help remove one piece YHM rails.

Did you install it? If so, did you use loctite? If you used Loctite (blue), you will most likely need a heat gun or small torch. Looking at the picture you will need to remove the gas block first....then heat and remove the screws followed by the tube/handguard. To get the handguard off...

Help! stuck gas tube on AR-15

Had this happen several times in the past. I grab the gas tube with some small pliers and tap on the pliers with a hammer. You might end up with a few scratches on the gas tube but it who cares.

    want a .308

1 moa is pretty ambitious for plinking & hunting...although not unreasonable. Have you looked at the Savage line of target/varmint rifles?

    Winchester Model 94

I would guess that the Win 94 is currently appreciating in value faster than most other guns. That said, there were millions of them produced so they aren't very scarce….but the days of $200 Winchesters has past. Yes, the drilled & tapped receiver would reduce the value to a collector but not...

Do You Consider An M-1 Carbine Adequete For HD

Adequete For HD? Absolutely! For years, it was THE rifle for survivalist, etc. Although there may be better rifles for a SHTF, I wouldn't feel underpowered if all I had was my M1 Carbine. Buy one (or two) then stock up on mags, ammo, & spare parts and you are set. FWIW, I would go with...

Question for all you 7.62x39 Saiga converters/owners

I have a converted 7.62x39 Saiga and a 7.62x39 Romy G. The Romy uses a longer gas piston than the Saiga. I think the Saiga uses the shorter AK-74 piston.

    schmitt-rubin .30-30

Safe to fire....no more or less so than any other yard sale rifle. If it is a K31 or K11 action then it shouldn't be a problem.

    The Military and range time

Not true...several of the PXs at some of the major posts have started selling firearms. The one at Fort Knox has been selling them since 2005. The only way you will get alot of trigger time is to get selected for the army marksmanship unit. Otherwise, you would be lucky to shoot every few...

If possible, own both. If not, get the Garand.

    Battle Rifle CCW

Not a bad idea! I use a tennis racket bag for carrying a side-folding AK on occasion. Just imagine living in a area with heavy rains / rising water and you had to evac by boat. A concealed rifle would be an excellent idea.

Need a 22lr. Old Henry need not apply.

It's called the GSG-5. Another option is get a 10/22 and turn it into a krinker plinker.
