Can you identify the maker?
Can anyone identify the maker of this flap holster? i'v had it for some time, and so far no one has been able to ID it. It fits S&W K mod. 6" revolvers. It was made by a very skilled leather worker. You can see the individual hairs on the wild boar's head. Here are...
Scope
I have been searching the internet for sources for older target style scopes that would be appropriate for this rifle, but no success yet. Anyone know of a good source?
Thanks.

I took your sugestion and got in touch with Gil Parsons, and he said that the A5 Lyman was a copy of the Winchester A5 scope. He said that the scope was of the correct time era of the gun. He said that it was unfortunate that the rear mounting block was to far forward on the bbl. and...

Hi, All:
I appreciate all the info. I only wish I could give you guys a picture that showed the real color, and figure of the wood of this rifle, but my photography skills lack a lot. About the estimated time of building this rifle, I went by the recollections of my friend the owner. I...
Thanks
Thanks, All:
Thanks for all the info. Your Info. on this rifle goes along with my ideas on it.
I am an old poop of 79 and grew up during that era, but, my referance books are in Ohio, I am in Florida, and my memory is gone, I don't know where.
My sugestion to the owner was to have the...
Thanks for the come back. What kind of scope would have been used in that era? As the rifle is only drilled and tapped on the bbl. and has target style bases mounted on it, it would have been some kind of target style scope with the adjustments in the rings I would guess. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I just refinished the stock on this old custom varmint rifle for a friend. I found under some gummy dark varnish stain, some unusual Maple. It is a combination of birdseye, and curly maple. The action is 98 Mauser, the barrel is a tapered bull in 270. The owner said that his grandfather had it...
Hi, Rcmodel:
It is the reverse. The rifle I am talking about has the target style blocks installed on it, and I want to try to use the blocks to install a modern internal adjustment type scope on it.
Thanks.

Is there an adaptor to use standard scope rings of modern target scopes on the target style scope mounting blocks used on older varment/Target scopes?
Thanks.

Hi, All:
I have a Win. 94AE in .45LC. It is an older gun, but as new. It has been fired only about ten times. When I fired it the other day, with R&P new brass reloads, the extractor would not pick up and extract the fired cartridges. I tried several other brands of brass when I got home from...
Hi, All:
It sounds like I am out of luck on unthreading the bbl. with my limited experiance.
to Kwhi43, the sad part of the story is, that it is an R&D conversion cyl. that is stuck in the gun.
To theotherwaldo, yes, the slug seems to be bridging the gap between the bbl. and the cylinder. I...

Hi, All:
I need to unscrew the barrel of my Rem./Uberti 1858 Rem. New Army. Can anyone tell me which way it is threaded into the frame? Is it right hand threads Or left handed? I had an unfortunate misshap at the range today. I tried some commercially loaded .45 LC cartridges in my...
Thanks
Hi, Cyote Hunter:
Thanks for the pictures of Remington pistols & rifles. Where in the world did you find them? Things like those adds are what makes our hobby interesting. I looked for copies of the Colt information sheets that were packed in the cases with original Colt Cap & ball...
Remington Revolving Rifle
Hi, All:
I want to thank all of you for the helpfull information, on this, new to me, rifle.
It's good to know, that Remington did make rifles of this sort. I guess that the R&D conversion cylinders that I have, were not a new idea, as Remington offered this rifle...
Hi, All: :)
Can anyone give me information about the Rem./Uberti .44cal. revolving rifle that I have? Is it a reproduction of an actual Remington rifle? Has anyone here had any experience shooting one? It seems to be very well made and the finish is really good. I have a Rem./ Uberti 1858 New...
