Help me out with a Glock argument

There's a guy on Glocktalk that has done extensive testing on his G21 (.45), including dropping it loaded off of his roof, and out of airplanes at 500ft to test this and several other issues. Long read, but this should give you a little more info...

    Glock kaBooms

Wow, that's impressive. Hope you're ok. Was it a G26 or 27? What kind of ammo? Have you been able to get ahold of the ammo manufacturer?

    308 Semi-automatic

then shoot it. :-P I had an SPS varmint in .308, a friend has an SPS tactical in .308. they were both great shooters.

    Glock kaBooms

Campgrafton, let's see some pictures of the kaboom. Not calling BS on you completely, but your only 3 posts on this forum, all in one day claiming a kaboom could be easily verified by some pics. I suppose it is possible to get a doublecharge from the factory, but one point not mentioned yet...

    Remington 870 "POLICE MAGNUM" >???<

I don't know when our duty shotguns were made (2004-ish), but they are marked police magnum. Are they not making them anymore? I didn't find anything special about them. High recoil and a lot of muzzle flash out of the short barrel when using buck or slugs.

are remington semis really that bad?

The 742s in 30-06 had a well known problem of cracking inside the reciever, just to the left of the chamber mouth. I don't remember what the part was that cracked, but when the crack started getting larger, the gun would stop reliably functioning as a semi-auto. I had a 30-06 742 carbine that...

    308 Semi-automatic

I've used my RRA LAR-8 for deer successfully. Never had a need for more than 1 shot. Had an old semi-auto Remington 742 carbine that took its share of deer. Again, never had to shoot more than once. Great for rapid follow up shots, but how often do you need to follow up rapidly like that?

    Predator Hunting

I always try to get killing shots on coyote, but if I try to hit more than one while they scatter, I'll take any shot that results in any hit. Humane or not. As mentioned, I believe coyote are much smarter than your average deer or hog.

Weight x Vel = Power Factor

In the G35 for minor I like slow burning powders with 135gn bullets. Keeps the pressures low and does not work the brass much. For major the 165gn bullets with medium powder works for me. I'm a cheapskate and the lighter bullets cost less. :-)

Mod AR mag for hunting 20 rnds to 5 rnds.

I used a pencil cut to length and wrapped with tape. Since the spring will be expanding as the magazine empties, you are not likely to have any jams.

    IPSC Production Question

I just upgraded to a Glock 35 G4 (from a Ruger P89) to shoot production with, chose the 35 (.40) instead of the 34 (9mm) to be able to move up to Limited later on this year without having to buy another gun. One thing I like about Glocks is the massive amount of aftermarket for them, and the...

Proper sling for AR15 in service rifle?

I'm 6'4" with long monkey arms, and the I find the 54" one to be sufficient for me. Longer is always better than shorter though. You can always adjust smaller, but you can't make it grow if you buy one too short.

    CMP M1 for High Power?

Spending the money on a potentially mediocre shooter and then more to rebarrel it, you may be suited better buying/building an AR15 or something else unless you just want a M1. It would more than likely work fine for an intro into the sport, but I would just advise weighing all options before...

What size would a person have to be to comfortably handle a rifle like an AR?

We had a female in one of my units who was 4'11" that could shoot the M-16 as well as many of the males. The good thing about the rifle is that all of the controls you will need to mess with are very close to where the pistol grip is. She had much more of a problem with our 870s, having arms...
