Without trying to sound too much of a smarta** - The solution is to buy your leather from someone who uses stable dyes.
I have never had the dye rub off on rigs from Lou Alessi, Rosen, Dave Workman, Andy Arratoonian (Horseshoe Leather) or Wild Bills.
