Thanks for the info. My 2008 model has not seen a lot of action yet, maybe a few hundred rounds. Going to change that real soon! Thanks again!

2008 39a I am curious, I have heard there are issues with certain newer built 39's. Mine is a 2008 bought brand new and I am wondering what I should look for. It seems to be just fine but maybe I am just ignorant. Can you shed some light? Regards

Stainless firing pin Thanks, for the replies gentlemen. I seen a video awhile back that featured a smithy taking down and reassembling a 39. In the video he mentioned that the firing pin is a weak point in the firearm. Personally, I have had no trouble with mine, however, I thought that if...

Back to the stainless steel firing pin. Yesterday I heat treated a piece of 440c stainless steel to 60 Rockwell C. Any discussion on how this material would hold up as a firing pin? I may make one just to test it out. Mark

Thread Locker I brought home a NIB 39a a couple years ago. Right away I decided to change the sights for accuracy sake. Just so happened that one of the guys at work was a degreed Gun Smith. So, not one to sqaunder a chance to maybe learn something, I brought the rifle to him and we changed...

Oil Change Hey, fellow 39 addicts! After studying for awhile I decided on a new 39a as my newest 22. So far so good, I do have one question. I tore my rifle down, cleaned it and want some opinions on oil. How much, where at? Thanks
