Shot one fouling shot and then proceeded to shoot the target..... unaware that the first shot raised the rear sight ever so slight. Loose screw on the center ladder rail, so in consequently shots (from the recoil) I made sure the sight was in the "right" position for 100 yards. First 2 of...
Came Monday. Shot it Tuesday. Very surprised (pleased) as to it's accuracy for a BP rifle made as a reproduction in 1974 SN of 1137 and code on bottom of the barrel was identified by David as being proofed in 1974. My oldest Daughter was born in July of 1974. Should I post pics of the target?
Bought a Parker Hale 1858 Enfield on Gunbroker last Sunday. Now is shipped. Just waiting for it to arrive. It has the CROWN over the BP on the top of the barrel. Hoping the serial number is low enough to be a complete made English Parker-Hale.
John, this link.... is it not made in England? https://www.dixiegunworks.com/index/page/product/product_id/9518/category_id/316/product_name/PR0521B+PARKER+HALE+ENFIELD+2+BAND
Also, I did stumble across a completed (sold) Parker Hale 1858 Enfield , early one, that listed the rifling twist as 1:48, the same as my Armisport P1853 Enfield. I personally like faster twists on 'other than round ball' as I think it makes a difference in their flight stability/accuracy...
If you were getting a 58 caliber for shooting, knowing that the Zouave has a 1:48 twist barrel (Zoli) and generally well made, OR a Parker-Hale 2 band Enfield 1858.... which actually has the edge for accuracy? I have seen both but the PH seems to have their sights quite a bit forward, which...
One other thing I might add. I have not seen an original Antonio Zoli Zouave, but if the nipple is a musket nipple on it and there is a substantial hole on the bottom (next to the powder) your accuracy will be all over the place. They make replacement nipples with tiny flash holes, something...
Also, here is another thought regarding the 1863 Remington contract rifle. They were made, bought and sold to the Union. So they were possessed. I personally believe documentation is rather sketchy of who might have actually used one in 1864 to 1865 in battle. Seems like someone could have...
According to N-SSA rules the Zouave is allowed.

I know... old thread.
Someone may stumble on this, as I did, doing a search.
Magazines can be loaded AND carried in the vehicle in the trunk with the rifle as long as they are not "IN" the rifle. Except, registered pistols such as a SIG 522 registered in MI as a pistol it can be loaded...
I've shot the 24/7 PRO for a good long time. My everyday carry is a design so very close to the 24/7 PRO that is is like the kindred brother... I carry a Taurus Millennium PRO in .45 every day. Always shoots, never any problems, like the 24/7 PRO. Recently came into the yard (live in country)...
Agree 100% with Tirod. I took my AR-15 lower and removed the screw for the pistol grip and used a small set screw and with the upper off, adjusted the set screw with allen head until I had good latching, and no problems with releasing the hammer, etc. With the upper off you can feel the...
Money better spent on a SIG 522 model. It looks like the SIG 556 model but shoots .22 LR ammo. Easy to clean, accurate, and the most reliable 22 I have ever shot. Stock folds over to the side and has a detachable flash hider as well. Magazines are not that expensive and definitely has that...
I agree 100% on the longer sight relief. If you use iron sights the further the distance from rear to front makes quite a distance. With a scope, though, it's moot.
16" barrel Saiga AK-47 with scope shooting Remington 150 gr Core-Lokt PSP bullets at 100 yards. I put a dot on a used Pizza...
