Can't believe I missed this thread for so long - maybe because I've been ignoring my smoky friends and need to get back into this. Anyway, here's my ROA and I'd be proud to be a member of the club.
I think a ranch rifle is a lot like a truck gun - it needs to be rugged, powerful enough to deal with most anything you're likely to encounter and something you don't mind getting a little dirty or even a little banged up. That said, the one I have with me in the truck and on my land in N...
You will find that re-loading is very common - most people bring what they carry and when you need to re-load you do it. I couldn't afford the week long class so I'm just speaking from experience with their CCW course, but for me it was more important to keep it real and just carry 2 spare...
I recently sold an older CVA rifle kit and went to FedEx to get a shipping price. I handed them the stock, barrel and a bag with the hardware so they could weigh it - there wasn't much question about what it was. Got the price quote and it was acceptable to the buyer so I went back with it...
I tried some Silver Bear HP rounds in my AR and had a lot of feeding problems - due to following this issue on the internet I made the assumption that it was the ammo but now I'm re-thinking this. I was using some milsurp OKAY mags and I'm going to try again with some new Magpuls. The cost...
I've done a lot of online research about this and am on a waiting list for a 995. One of the deciding factors was the level of customer support that is evident whenever you read a thread about Hi Point firearms. If yours stopped working and you haven't contacted them you're missing something.
I've been very happy with my Firestorm 380 but I find that I carry my Polish P83 more often. The Bersa is just a little too big for the caliber - I have a true pocket gun in the caliber (BG380) and for the size I'd rather carry 9x18. The Bersa is still a favorite for the range though.
My choices narrowed down to the LCP or the BG380 and I took the Smith & Wesson mostly because or ergonomics and the much better sights. No regrets at all - really a fine little pistol.
