I don't know that your cousin and brother should necessarily be convinced that they need .45s, but rather that they just need a Sig. :D My new 226 I just picked up last week has been nothing but a straight shooter. Never have I shot a pistol that felt as a good as my Sig.

Cool, so is that the only place you're supposed to grease? And then oil the rest (barrel, spring, inside the slide, inside the frame)? Or am I missing anything? BTW, thanks for helping a novice.

Confuse me for being ignorant as I'm new to semi-auto hand guns, but what exactly are the rails? Is that where the slide slips onto the frame?

Assuming you're talking about fixed mag AR's, I hear you Hobo. I want to stay away from the fixed mag guns. And you gotta love the reasoning behind Ca's laws where a Mini 14 is legal yet an AR isn't due just to aesthetics. Can't have those "scary" looking guns floating around in our state...
