    Yet another hard time choosing...

I love my Rugers. That said, if I were choosing a CCW, I'd pick the XD.

    The Beltman?

I sent an email last week and got a response the same day. I placed my order on April 1st and last week he said my order should ship tomorrow.

    Gander Mountain's FFL xfer fee

My transfer dealer charges $20. I would never pay more than $25, as there is a plethora of dealers that charge that or under it (at least in this area). You can always use Gunbroker's FFL search to find a transfer dealer: http://www.gunbroker.com/User/DealerNetwork.asp

Good choices for Primary Defensive Folders

I carry a cheap S&W CK5TBS for regular cutting tasks, as well as Kershaw Leek 1660G10.

My new deep woods pack gun experience...

Yeah, I've been up that way a few times. I now live in the Twin Cities area as well. Yesterday it was 38 degrees in Grand Marais and 99 degrees in the southwest portion of the state. Ahhhhh, gotta love MN. :D Enjoy the Taurus. I almost bought one of those, but as you've noted, the...

My new deep woods pack gun experience...

Hey RoostRider, where are you from in northern MN, if you don't mind me asking? I grew up in Grand Rapids (MN, not MI) and my parents still live up there.

My new deep woods pack gun experience...

I see nothing wrong with a .38 for the BWCA. If it's good enough for a CCW, then it's good enough for the BWCA. While some would want something more potent or have more ammo, I also believe you'd have more chance having to use it against a feral redneck (as RoostRider put it) as you would...

    First Auto for Under $400

Another vote here for the Ruger P-95. Excellent pistol for the money.

Looking for a new concealed carry

I have no trouble using the slingshot method to chamber my K9. You can't ride the slide forward at all. If I pull the slide all the way back and let it go, it works every time.

Looking for a new concealed carry

Some of the polymer Kahrs fit that description, but I haven't read or heard of any repeated problems with the Kahr K9s (hence why I bought mine). Everyone I've talked to has said that their K9 is 100% reliable and I would agree. That said, my recommendations would be a Kahr K series or the...

Got a bug to buy a kahr

Here is a reference image that Kahr has on their site to illustrate the differences between the CW and P series. I have a Kahr K9 for my CCW. It's accurate, reliable, and easily concealed. I can't comment on the other Kahrs, as this is the only one I own.

Any major failures with your Springfield XD???

Let me preface this post by saying that I don't own an XD, although I have several buddies that do. The only issue I've read about with the XD is that the striker roll pin can break. From what I've read, this most often occurs from frequent dry firing without snap caps. While I wouldn't...

    Small 9mm

My CCW is a K9, so I would choose the MK9 if I were to go smaller. However, I prefer a full grip.

    Beltman turnaround time?

I ordered mine the day after you and I haven't received mine either. If I don't receive it within a week or so, I'll email him. I figure that he's just seeing higher sales volume due to the same for handguns. I have to admit that I'm getting sick of using a 'regular' belt for my SuperTuck...
