I guess I may be over thinking the whole thing, but I have invested quite a bit in the parts for this upper. Just wanted to make sure when I torque the flash hider I don't put additional torque on the barrel nut. Thanks for the input.

I've watched a few videos, read a few threads about mounting a flash hider. Question 1, I'm sure it's all perspective, but what's the best way to mount a A2 type flash hider? Crush washer or peel washer? Question 2, is a barrel vice block required for this or will a upper receiver block...

I have both epoxy based paint and straight epoxy. I'll look at both and apply one before I assemble the upper. Thanks for the input.

It's the upper, on the forward leading edge, where the you insert the barrel extension into the upper receiver. I'm not sure if there will actually be contact since it's on the outside of the threads, I guess you'd call it the lip, but just wondered. I've got quite a bit invested in the project...

I finally went with a Eotech 553, glad I did. real easy to zero and very quick target acquisition.

Just thought I'd finish up with what I got. I went with Seekins rings and 20 MOA base. They have worked out real nice so far. I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

I guess part of my concern is the Aluminum against the steel. Those two metals don't play well together, especially if moisture is introduced. Probably not a problem, but wanted to ask and see what other thought.

I have a Rock River Arms lower that has a chip in the paint on the very front, where the barrel nut will thread on. It is all the way down to the metal, like a big chip just came off. My question is what would be the best way to repair this type of damage? Is it really necessary to repair...

I have a Model 700™ XCR™ Tactical Long Range, that I just purchased. I got a Kahles 3.5X10X50 scope for it. I looked at other scopes but the clarity sold me. Now I'm left to getting mounts, I've looked around and noticed that there seems to be a huge disparity in the cost of different mounts...

I posted this on another thread, just thought I'd share. I"m planning on writting my representatives today...hopefully we can stop this junk....:banghead:
