    New S&W for 2010

I agree that the slippery fake wood grips on the Taurus are hideous. If it's going to be a polymer gun then don't pretend there's something natural on the gun. I do like that it's a semi-shrouded hammer so you can still cock it for SA. Why it's so darn heavy, I have no idea! I think the...

    S&w 469,669,6904,6906

My first Smith auto was a 469. Here's a little writeup I did on it - http://hiddendefense.blogspot.com/2009/01/smith-wesson-469-proven-ccw.html I really liked it, but had traded it off on a whim. I then found a well used 908 to replace it and have never looked back. The double stacks do...

jamesjo, Thanks for the vid link. Impressive collection! I must say I'd love to have a 999 top break. Just a cool looking gun.

    My Christmas Gun: H&R 950 22lr

I know it's a bit after Christmas, but I wanted to share As is the case for gift giving days most folks know that a firearm will always be appreciated by me. So this Christmas my inlaws presented me with this gorgeous 22lr revolver. It is an H&R Model 950 nickel plated 9 shot...

    Bought an ugly duckling :)

Very nice find Frank! Where's Ed's? Is that the place that changed it's name to Nick's over in Marietta? A working .357 for $65 is a steal! Good thought on bobbing the hammer too. It's a perfect stash away gun.

price check Dan Wesson model 14 .357

Go for it! I bought my Model 14 for about that and it's been a fantastic gun. I have a writeup for it on my blog - http://hiddendefense.blogspot.com/2008/05/little-old-school-dan-wesson-357-magnum.html Check out the pictures and my guess is mine probably has similar finish wear.

    Smallest J-frame contest

Rossi "j-frames" aren't j-frame size at all. They are six shot .38's and are more k-frame/Colt Detective sized. Unless you are talking about the older Rossi's before Taurus took them over...

Are Tyler T-Grips coming back into style?

As others have said T-grips never go out of style! I had gotten one for an N-frame and trimmed up the bottom to sit flush on my Charter Arms .38 along with Hip Grips. I liked that they filled the hand a little more than the J-frame ones. Then to add traction I painted it with texturized spray...

A Stone Grip! ...No Not Really

It does look like it adds 2lbs to the gun, but really it's much lighter than the walnut grip it replaced so even without a full underlug and only a 4" barrel it's a little nose heavy. I think I'm going to have to find a 2" barrel to swap in.

A Stone Grip! ...No Not Really

I picked up another old grip someone didn't need for my Dan Wesson Model 14. I love the walnut grip I had reshaped for it, but I wanted something I didn't have to worry about messing up and I wanted to try something different. At first glance the old grip looked similar to my other grip...

Appendix IWB Kydex Holster for a S&W 908

After proving my newest acquisition, the Smith & Wesson 908, was reliable and accurate enough and then carrying it a couple weeks concealed & tucked I decided it needed it's own holster. Since it fits very well in the Crossbreed SuperTuck that I use tucked at the 4 o'clock position I don't need...

    S&W's Budget 3913: The 908!

Balance - The gun balances well in hand. The metal frame and the short 3.5" barrel give it a neutral feel so it's not as top heavy as some of the newer poly frame pistols. What helps with the balance is the slimness and angle of the grip. Build Quality - Since the gun came to me used and...

    S&W's Budget 3913: The 908!

nwilliams, thanks for the recommendation for the Trijicon sights. The recoil isn't bad at all. It's a 9mm that weighs ~27oz loaded so it's not like shooting a superlight Kel-tec or plastic Kahr. It's definitely no worse than the Sig P239. Dangerman, if you can find one at a decent price...
