45 acp is legal out of a 1911 in mn. the only requirement is that it is .220 or larger centerfire. there are no restrictions for pistols other than it can't be a muzzle loading revolver. our local dnr agent has hunted with one for years and i have taken several. the original round was meant to...
Three
1 blackhawk three screw in .357
A custom 1871 rolling block pistol in .30 carbine
And a 16 ga mossberg pump
I like to hunt with old or odd things
Generally for bird hunting i use my stevens 410. I have repeaters and a sxs but i just like it more. It was my first gun as well as my dads first gun and it will be my sons first gun
My choice 1911. I shoot them better. If if 9 isnt enough then it probably wouldnt matter anyway. Id be dead by then. To get to either me or my kids in my house to have to go down a long hallway. If the invaders still keep coming after I'm empty there is always a fully loaded shotgun near by
Thanks for the info. Quite frankly i don't have much experience with bolt action rifles. I shoot single shot or lever action. Besides My nagant and my dads marlin .22 i think I've only shot maybe two bolt actions with maybe a box of shells used.
I'm not set on having wood i just prefer how...
Getting older sucks!
Its time to build a decent utility rifle. Iron sights are just getting harder to see at long ranges.
Ive shot out to 1k with my Sharps and nagant so im not new to long range shooting. Im just new to scopes. The only one i have is for my wife's .22.
My goal is...
Look up duece stevens on u tube hes one of the best. Or Missouri lefty. A 13 year old wonder shooter. . I shoot a double most times. On a bad day i can get 4 rounds out of an empty gun in under for seconds. I'm not even one of the faster shooters
The local toy store has one on the shelf. I'm looking for my first hunting semi auo. They have that, a .50 ae desert eagle and a 10mm para long slide. All within a few hundred bucks of each other.
Thank you for your comments
They still make the nmv bisley in .45 if you are looking for an old model and don't mind wood grips send me a pm i know where there is one for sale. I'm new to this forum so I'm not quite sure of the proper etiquette on this.
Favorite, ruger Vaquero. I've had seven over the years. Currently own three. Tough, accurate, smooth as butter.
Least favorite, blackhawk in 44 mag. Just hated that square trigger gaurd. Sold the gun after 9 rounds
32 summer i carry a single six birds head in 32 mag.
Winter a bisley vaquero in .45
Either seasons i usually have at least one backup, plus a few pointy things too
