Just got a XDM 3.8 Subcompact

I bought one in bitone, and just got my 3 free mags. Mine were all the flush-fitting ones. For the record, I like it significantly more than my previous XD9SC. Not that I didn't like the little sub, but the XDmC fits me so well.

    Springfield EMP questions...

I loved my EMP 40 when I had it. I switched over to 9mm and sold off all my 40's. Been wanting to pick up another in 9mm ever since. Probably a birthday present to myself, looking for the right deal. Its a lot of money, but it an exceptionally well made firearm.

    Got mine today!!

Very nice, congrats! I picked mine up in bitone last week. Planning to take it to the range this week and put it through its paces. Adding the Pearce grip extension makes a big difference.

    NEW XDm Compact

Dcarch, do you mean from the Springfield lineup, or from my collection? The Compact fills a spot that neither my Subcompact nor the full-sized XDm fit. I loved to shoot my SC, but have been wanting an XDm, and the short grip suits me for my needs. I'm sure over time the new-gun excitement...

    NEW XDm Compact

My new XDm9C in bitone, still has that new gun smell. Pearce grip extension mod coming tomorrow :)

    NEW XDm Compact

Add a pinky extension to the standard mag like on the XD SC and you're GTG! I see one of these in bitone in my future, Springfield just keeps making guns that I really want.

Convince me not to buy a Springfield EMP

I just sold my Kahr K9 and XD9SC to fund the purchase of an EMP-9. Had an EMP-40 and it was a dream to shoot. Extremely well made firearms. My only gripes about the gun are that the 9mm frame is aluminum, and they don't offer a bare-stainless finish (ala Ultra Compact).

    AR-15 Compensator Wear and Tear

Thanks for the replies, it confirms what I was suspecting. This gun is so ridiculously fun to shoot; my brothers and dad all want to get one now. We were shooting at birch logs, and it was starting to get dark so I have having trouble seeing them through the sights.

    AR-15 Compensator Wear and Tear

Federal maroon 100 packs this weekend, which is what I primarily shoot. Previously used some Remington ammo, and a handful of misc. other .223.

    AR-15 Compensator Wear and Tear

Additionally, when reviewing video, and recalling what shooting was like, there seemed to be sparks or burning powder or something coming out the end of the barrel (not sure if this helps, but thought I'd offer what I could).

    AR-15 Compensator Wear and Tear

I've got about 500 rounds through my recently built AR (16" 5.56 BCM stainless Recce barre)l. While cleaning it this evening, I noticed that the JP Enterprises stainless compensator looks like it was hit with a bead/sand blaster on the interior "baffles." Is this normal, or a sign of something...

Kahr K9 field strip and reassembly

The slide disassembly is tricky at first, but quickly gets easier with practice. You just need to make darn sure you don't let any springs go flying.

Kahr K9 field strip and reassembly

Let me clarify - my experience only relates to the all-steel Kahr pistols.

Kahr K9 field strip and reassembly

I found my older Kahrs were easier to disassemble, but the new ones I have to tap the slide-lock lever with a mallet. I think the issue is the retaining spring (the one holding in the slide-lock lever) - it seems apply a lot of force in the stock position, making it very difficult to remove...
