Sheepdog1968 click on my name and go to "find more posts by ...." it will take you to my other post.
Perceived recoil is the main point. Distribution of the recoil force over time (i.e.- decrease in peak pressure against your shoulder) is what makes aftermarket pads work. As noted by...
See my post re: Benelli Vinci
Have you tried a Limbsaver recoil pad? I don't care about actual recoil since that is largely dependent on the gun weight and load. What I care about is perceived recoil.
The limbsaver pad works wonders, but it does add a little to the kenght of pull. See if...
The first two pages of this trend are just is worthless ranting.
I bought a Vinci and have shot 100 rounds of heavy game loads thru it (trap).
No malfunctions and scored 23-24 per 25 shot round. (This is a little better than my normal 23 using a Berretta Silver Pigeon O/U.)
Recoil: No...
The cost to feed my habit is getting too high.
I would like to reproduce both the 168 and 175 gr BTHP rounds.
I have the brass and can get the bullets (sierra), but what primers and powder do you suggest?
In particular I read an article recently that noted that empty space in the loaded round...
They sell flintlock muskets. The catch is that the vent hole is not drilled. They say that a gunsmith can drill this later.
Anyone have experience with these arms?
Can't I just drill this myself? (or drill and tap for a screw-in vent liner?)
-If so, then what size hole?
I'm interested in...

Anyone have experience with both of these scopes? $1196 (Leupold) vs. $1335 (Nightforce)
Need for long range shooting (>200 yds). I have very bad eyes and need the extra magnification. I am aware of the problems with mirage, but both are variable so lower mag is always available.
Leupold has...
I recently changed the front dovetail sight on my Ruger 10/22. It required some filing (of the sight) to get it to fit. After shooting about 50 rounds the sight fell off. Oops, I guess I filed off too much.
So what do I do now? Loc-tite (which color?)?
simplex lock box
I don't trust any device that requires a dead :cuss: battery or lost key.
Simplex locks are user programable and if you open them regularly become second nature to use. Easy to use in total darkness and kid proof.
