    Thanks all mine are Springfields and just never seen the cutout, makes sense. And yes I have flung myself out of a couple thousand planes. It's pretty friggin fun. I SCUBA also very relaxing.

    Avoided a disaster at the range this weekend

    As I was taught in the Army, anyone of any rank can call a ceasefire on the range at anytime for any safety reason. Good on you for doing so.

    15 years ago you could go and find deals, not any more in my observations. If i need parts (no place around here carries parts for ANYTHING other than AR's) I just order online. I want to support my local guys and buy from them, but they have no intentions of stocking anything I want/need...

    Stupid does happen..... I have had one ND in my life. I racked the slide observed an empty chamber, dropped the slide and then dropped the mag....... (see the problem here) pointed it in a safe direction and pulled the trigger. BAM right though the floor. Like I said, stupid does happen...

    Oh and I should have mentioned in my post that the AR that I hunt with is not a 5.56.

    Nothing to do with the rifle..... It's the guy behind it that counts. You just happened to have two that couldn't shoot. I hunt with an AR. It's light, accurate and I'm very good with it. I also only have a 10 round mag in it to keep it light and handy.
