The news spot is over the top ridiculous with all the movie clips of murder after movie murder. The initial host states that the Republicans want to do away with what she says in regards to silencers... "currently there is a $200,000 tax and a lengthy background check to purchase one. FAKE NEWS.

Victor Blackwell: "A gun silencer. Shooting enthusiasts call it a suppressor. It's an assassins must have... in movies."

They do all they can to tie suppressor use to murder by stealth.

The good news: The bill is introduced with bipartisan support!! Woo Hoo!!!

I love how the news media immediately jumped on the assassin angle with this story, and even pulled lines like "must have tool for assassins"... because movies and real life are obviously the same.

Suppressors shouldn't be regulated, period. Unfortunately you'd be surprised by how many gun owners (even on forums like these) seem to believe the lies about them being only good for assassins, and having no purpose in law-abiding society.

The sad part is that this Victor guy thinks what he sees in movies is real. And, of course, that a suppressor silences anything.
What do you suppose murder by anything but stealth involves? snicker.

When I saw CNN I knew it had to be real news Bwaaahahaha give me a break,I'll stick with my 2ltr pop bottles hahaha O did I say that out loud.

So, from CNN point of view the whole of Europe is full of prospective assassins yet extending their marvelous logic to banning all car and truck mufflers to prevent terrorist from driving semis in to crowds isn't somehow valid? I'm still trying to find a way to cancel the CNN subscription from my cable TV package, the $#!% they spew truly rots people's brains.

Oh! so CNN are still in business?! ... who knew!

Yes 200,000,000,000 trillion dollars stamp and background check wiht Jupiter's intergalactic police.

It seems CNN they are trying to beat the onion news at their own game.

Check the basis for this law. It was introduced by a Senator who read about "Silencers" in a Sherlock Holmes novel. There were no actual crimes in which they were used. Humm? and we thought modern Democrats were stupid.. :uhoh:
Not all of them. But they are showing the idiocracy more evereyday. At least the ones on the propaganda. Ahem. I mean news.

Highly regulating suppressors is a good idea. They are obviously only designed to hide assassinations. Upstanding gun owners have nothing to hide.

That's why I removed the mufflers from all my vehicles. Quiet cars are for getaway drivers. I want people to know that I'm coming.

Next: switchblades! Gang slashing dealers of death, or murder in every pocket? Roll the tape from West Side Story.

$200,000 tax stamp? Sigh.....

Can we just point out that Europe mostly allows these and has no where near our rate of firearms ownership?

Oh boy. I looked up "One Pulse for America"...one of the anti's quoted on the CNN report. I found the following; all new to me:

"Responding to the horrific mass shooting at an LGBTQ club on June 12, 2016, actor and activist George Takei founded One Pulse for America (OPFA), honoring the victims of this devastating ambush. OPFA is an action-oriented grassroots group dedicated to closing the "Passion Gap" with pro-gun activists. OPFA Facebook group advocates for life-saving reforms in Congress, state, and local legislatures.

In his widely read op-ed for The Daily Beast, George noted that the "obligation" to address gun reform, specifically the availability of semi-automatic weapons, is now squarely on the shoulders of the LGBTQ community, one of the most battle-proven communities in the world.

OPFA applies "social warrior" tactics to counter the efforts of the gun lobby. OPFA's social media engagements are as targeted, as constant, and as impactful as the messaging of the gun lobby."

Thank you very much Mr. Sulu.

Ladd Everett, the "Director" of One Pulse For America, is also the only staff member listed on the website. A lifelong gun control activist. I can't find anything about the funding of the group.

I thought these people were pro-assassin at this time? :scrutiny:

Thank you very much Mr. Sulu.
Give him a break; he's gay, he's 1.5th-generation Japanese-American, and has lived in urban California his whole life. You're more likely to find pro-gun unicorns than pro-gun people with his background. That said, his going full-Bono in recent years is getting tiresome ("oh, my.")

I just use an old oil filter on my revolvers.
I have fork-breaks on all my guns, and am careful to keep a supply of potatoes in every room.

Well, if 'loud pipes save lives' it stands to reason mufflers are murder incarnate...

Never forget, CNN = Communist News Network. The snowflakes and bliss ninnies who work there are nothing more than pap dispensing propaganda meisters. All lies and distortions are valid to them if they enhance their far, far left wing agenda. :what:

Movie clips are spectacular, tho. Gee, I didn't know a handgun with silencer could flip a person out of their chair head over heels and dump them three feet behind. Awesome! And the shooter is completely unaffected by that release of power - its as if the laws of physical science are set aside just for them.

Hey, it's a CNN hit piece, and for that, it should be posted as fake news on other gun forums, too. Great example of a false premise embellished by Hollywood stunt people who DO make things over the top for entertainment purposes.

The real point of them releasing this is they are willing to risk even more censure to portray guns in a negative light - even manufacture a ridiculous example for their purposes. The game is still on and they aren't backing down. They will continue to promote inflammatory and false conjecture and it's not going to stop.

We are actually in the polite stages of a Civil War over our culture and who is in control. This isn't going away and being shocked by their persistence is just the first step in seeing it.

They're good for assassination of varmints, but that's legal around here. ;)
