Who Knows Someone Who's Been Shot?

Not a good comparison Almost everyone drives a car, almost everyday. A lot don't own guns, and even more don't use them everyday. SEAN

    Socom Update

I started a thread last week with the question: How do weapons get the SOCOM name attached to them. It was clearly researched that H&K's Mark 23 was the only one that was made for Special Forces, but I couldn't find any info on Springfield's SOCOM 16. I emailed Springfield and recieved a...

    Thumbing: Need Advice

practice Spend some time dry firing. Aim and press the trigger, if your sights twitch you are squeezing your gun and pulling the trigger. When dry firing feel the muscles in your hand, they shouldn't be tense. Focus on your trigger finger while you press the trigger. Nothing should move or...

    Carry gun ammo

This question if for my Second Amendment practicing, daily carry brothers. What are your preferred bullets? I started carrying two months after my 21st birthday,( law in FL requires the age, and takes that time to process my license)and I bought my H&K USP Compact, and filled it with .40 S&W...

Update I've sent an email to Springfield inquiring about the SOCOM name being attached to their super short M1A. I'll update if answered. SEAN -I know I should go to work today, but the voices in my head tell me to stay home and clean the guns-

    Left hanging by Sig

Homeland Security These guys are buying all the guns. H&K recently got the same contract Sig did! 65,000 pistols. H&K is making USP Compacts and P2000s for DHS. SEAN Most of the shop owners I know don't like a manufacturer for one reason or another. Does your shop owner have Sigs in stock?

    Flying with Delta

Delta Flyer I flew Delta in November from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Of all my firearm check-in experiences this was the worst. I travel relatively light, one carry-on, one check, plus the pistol in a Pelican case. Normal procedure is declare, inspect, scan, and go. Every other airline I've flown...

    What else is out there?

Thanks I mean 7.62x51/.308. I should have excluded AR-15s. I want a ranch/scout rifle that doesn't look like an "assault" rifle. I am also interested in going carbine if a 7.62x51 is not available. Ruger makes a .40SW carbine, but I've never been a fan of Ruger. Thanks for the info. SEAN

    What else is out there?

Mini-14, M1A scout, what other rifles would fall into the same category? Short, semiauto, preferably in 7.62, carbine. SEAN

My first traffic stop while carrying

Nimble1 Nimble1, if you reach toward a weapon of course the cop will get jumpy, no matter what your intent. If you have to get your registration and there's a firearm on top of it you should have told the officer before you reached. Pine Island, I have family on Pine Island! SEAN

My first traffic stop while carrying

Improper Backing I am a permit holder and also live in FL. I was recently traveling down 20th street at about 25 mph and was pulled over when a SUV soccer mom almost hit my truck. This may not sound like a stop worthy offense to you ,but officer Mason thought otherwise. His problem with the...

thanks Thanks for the answers fellas. So far the Mark 23 is the only SOCOM weapon that can actually be linked to SOFs. The SOCOM 16 by Springfield on the other hand must be a marketing ploy. The trick is, buy yourself a nice cheap weapon (gun, knife, flashlight, etc...) then paint it black...
