    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

My friend made a suppressor for his Ruger 10/22 out of a length of piping and some catalytic converter baffles. With subsonic ammo outside, all you can hear is the action cycling and the rounds hitting the backstop. Pretty slick. Edit: In case you were wondering, the suppressor was more than a...

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

I take that back. All powerful air rifles require cocking. Pneumatics are usually less than 900 FPS, and CO2 is around 600. I don't want to spend too much on too little product, and buying a $400 air rifle strikes me as just that.

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

I would have, but all the air rifles require manual cocking (like my Gamo) and rarely do they feed from a magazine. A .22 rifle allows for semiautomatic fire from a magazine.

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

Yessir. However, I am not yet old enough to possess a suppressor, so I might use subsonic ammo instead. I hate ear protection, especially in the summer. Never gone without it, but it gets really irritating.

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

Well, judging from the replies, I should probably walk a few hundred meters into the woods. And this is a rural area; by "woods" I mean the "there are trees everywhere and deer and other game," not the "patch of trees between houses" woods. I checked my local codes, and I'm not allowed to fire...

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

How does the Compact Heavy Duty from Thompson Machines compare to the Sparrow? It's pretty much half the price.

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

I've been shooting my air rifle in the backyard for over two years, and before that I played airsoft all night long with some friends. I don't think they care anymore. Edit: The houses are about 10 yards apart, and there's a ton of woods to the back. I just shoot straight to the back.

    .22LR Rifle w/Suppressor?

I was looking at a .22LR rifle for backyard plinking. My thoughts immediately turned to the Ruger 10/22, a firearm with which I am very familiar. I was going for the Tactical version, which has a scope rail and a threaded barrel for just $39 more than the base model. I think I can get this...

    Subsonic Self-Defense Loads?

I wonder, how do soldiers on duty and in combat get away with firing full house rifle rounds with seemingly no hearing damage?

    Subsonic Self-Defense Loads?

If you fire a 9mm Parabellum without ear protection, you will permanently damage your hearing. In my G19, for concealed carry, is it acceptable to carry subsonic loads? It hey reduce a shot sound to something like 120-130 deicibels, which is far better than the 159 decibels that a normal...

    Best Pistol Combination?

Just a question: Do the Gen4 G19's have FTF or FTE problems? I've heard about those and I wanted to make sure Glock ironed out these little kinks.

    Best Pistol Combination?

Looks like I'll be getting a G19 w/.22 LR conversion for carry and a Colt Series 70 for home defense and looking.

    Best Pistol Combination?

I probably should have mentioned before that I've fired several pistols in both .45 ACP and 9x19mm before. In any case, it appears as though a 9mm would be best for concealed carry. What 9mm's would you guys recommend for concealed carry? P228? CZ75 Compact? Obviously, large pistols like...

    Best Pistol Combination?

Thanks everyone for the prompt replies. I was wondering - which caliber do you recommend for concealed carry? The .45 obviously has significantly more power than the 9mm, but the weapons designed for the 9mm usually have a higher magazine capacity than those in .45 ACP. As for the CZ...
