000Buck, that illuminated reticle sounds pretty interesting. I've got a good friend with some land out in Santa Cardines. The darker colored hogs could be seen pretty good through one of those scopes I bet. I'm split 50/50 on the scope brands.

Wow! This post is over a year old. I went with the Franchi. POS! I returned it to the store and bought a Benelli.

OK. I'm going for the Benelli M2. I would have bought one this weekend if they had a 28" in stock. So here's my question: Would I be at any kind of a disadvantage with the 26" bbl? I know the ballistics are the same. This gun will be used for everything from dove to geese.

Yes, 10 shot capacity is a lot funner than just 4. I've got my eyes on a Marlin. Just out of curiosity, what is the average price of plinker ammo? I was hoping 50 rds. for around $12- $14. Maybe I'm mistaken. KG

I'm looking into getting a .44 carbine. Any info as to which one you'd go with is appreciated. I like the lever gun but I don't know about the straight grip stock. I like the semi-auto, but it seems kinda pricey. Any pros or cons on either of these? KG

What are the heaviest loads that can be fired from a Garand? I didn't know if 150 gr. was the max or could it go all the way up to 220 gr.? KG

Yeah, the slugs would be the sabot type fired from a rifled barrel. You guys are giving me some much appreciated info. Just trying to weigh everything out cost and performance wise before I come to a decision. KG
