The only two companies I have been able to find that make 1911s in 9mm are springfield armory and sti. I understand that kimber is supposed to make one but have heard its not likely to happen.
What other companies produce 1911s in 9mm?

I am looking for a new 9mm and would like very high machanical accuracy and must be highly shootable and reliable. Please limit responces to the following:

HK p9s (~$900) - this is the double action...
I hope the explanation ends up being good. I would hate to see headlines in the paper or on tv of, "One of the biggest handgun makers negligent at own plant." or somesuch. Those who do not like guns could certainly use this against those of us who do.

I picked up a Kahr T9 on Friday. It had to be special ordered and took 2 1/2 weeks.
First impression: Very nice grips. Great looks. A good weight and good sights (novak tritiums).
