    Ruger Three-screw Show and Tell

A buddy of mine's dad bought this one new (.357), and took off some parts and polished them. Doubt it's seen more than a few boxes of shells. I got to shoot it and it was so nice!

    1964 Ruger Super Blackhawk

Always liked the SBH, and found a good deal on a nice 1971 3 screw around 10 years ago. Beautiful revolver.... But, painful to shoot. Had to use gloves. Then, after searching, turned out my father in law had a set of older style Hogues that he gave me. Uglier, but oh so much more...

    Remington 700 Classic

I have one in .223. A friend of mine bought one the first year, in .257, I'd like one of those.

    long range pistol thoughts

Longer distance handgun shooting is a kick. I've done a fair amount of it, and out to a certain range you can just give it more front blade. Too far and the rear sight ends up clear down out of the picture. It helps to have dry ground like a plowed field where you can mark your shots. A 300 yard...

    Which Blackhawk is your favorite?

The idea of the convertibles is interesting, but as a handloader I can make a 38/357 or a 44spcl/44mag extremely versatile out of one cylinder so I don't think I'm missing much in versatility.

Pants for Cold Weather Elk Hunting?

I've always worn wool when it's cold. One of my friends here is a big time elk hunter, like camping up there a week at a time up high. He's gone through all the high tech super expensive clothes. About 2 years ago he went to wool and won't go back.

    Shooting Gloves

I use good batting gloves. Retain dexterity, thin enough as to not mess up your grip, and they absorb/redistribute a surprising amount of recoil.

    Which Blackhawk is your favorite?

I have a 3 screw Super Blackhawk .44 magnum that is very accurate and has wonderful lockwork and trigger. It's the square back trigger guard variety and was very uncomfortable to shoot strong loads through until I came up with some rubber grips, now it's not as attractive but a marvelous...

New Model Blackhawk v. Old Model Blackhawk ?

So any 3 screw Blackhawk .357 would be mid size frame then? And then any transfer bar Blackhawk .357 would be large frame, unless a 50th anniversary unit or a Lipsey's special? thanks, Lazy R

    Wasted morning at a gunshow

They have a main gun show in Missoula once a year. Used to go all the time, it was in the college gym and it covered the whole floor plus some upper deck areas; it was a pretty good show. Now it's in another place, and has atrophied down to a fraction of its former size. I figured online sales...

Do Used Guns Ever SELL on GunBroker.com?

I had been looking for a good 586 for a while, and you just don't get enough used stuff on the shelf around here. Found one on Gunbroker that looked very nice, and from dumb luck it was located at a store in Missoula. Went and saw it in person, it was perfect, plopped down my money and left with...

    Yearly Gun Expenditure

Never stopped to think about it much, but 2015 was a big one for me. Bought a Citori, a Single Six convertible, and a nice old 586. That totaled about $2500. Sold a Beretta for about $700. Spend a few hundy on boolits and powder and such. I'm usually one or two per year but there's not much...

What is the last gun that you bought?

Thanks, it shoots too. Getting settled in with it, shot these at 20 yards the other day.
