A buddy of mine's dad bought this one new (.357), and took off some parts and polished them. Doubt it's seen more than a few boxes of shells. I got to shoot it and it was so nice!

Always liked the SBH, and found a good deal on a nice 1971 3 screw around 10 years ago. Beautiful revolver.... But, painful to shoot. Had to use gloves. Then, after searching, turned out my father in law had a set of older style Hogues that he gave me. Uglier, but oh so much more...

Longer distance handgun shooting is a kick. I've done a fair amount of it, and out to a certain range you can just give it more front blade. Too far and the rear sight ends up clear down out of the picture. It helps to have dry ground like a plowed field where you can mark your shots. A 300 yard...

The idea of the convertibles is interesting, but as a handloader I can make a 38/357 or a 44spcl/44mag extremely versatile out of one cylinder so I don't think I'm missing much in versatility.

I've always worn wool when it's cold. One of my friends here is a big time elk hunter, like camping up there a week at a time up high. He's gone through all the high tech super expensive clothes. About 2 years ago he went to wool and won't go back.

I use good batting gloves. Retain dexterity, thin enough as to not mess up your grip, and they absorb/redistribute a surprising amount of recoil.

I have a 3 screw Super Blackhawk .44 magnum that is very accurate and has wonderful lockwork and trigger. It's the square back trigger guard variety and was very uncomfortable to shoot strong loads through until I came up with some rubber grips, now it's not as attractive but a marvelous...

So any 3 screw Blackhawk .357 would be mid size frame then? And then any transfer bar Blackhawk .357 would be large frame, unless a 50th anniversary unit or a Lipsey's special? thanks, Lazy R
