    Armscor brass

I have a Lyman Ideal single stage press. Yesterday I sized/de-primed and expanded the case mouth on 40 of the A P stamped cases (right after running 50 starline cases through the press) and I couldn't tell any difference in the feel as I worked them. I can tell visually that the case rim is a...

    Armscor brass

Awesome, the brass looks good but after reading some comments on other forums I started to wonder if I was missing something important. Black powder is pretty forgiving when it comes to powder charge weights and pressure curves but I wanted to be sure the cases would behave as expected. Thanks...

    Armscor brass

I've got some once fired 45 colt cases headstamped A P (which I think is Armscor Phillipines). I've done some reading on here and other places about the quality of Armscor brass, some people say throw it straight in the trash and others say its decent brass. Does anyone have any actual...

    Playing with the chrono

Barrel length is 4.75 in. and thanks for the feedback. I'm glad the chrono data is helpful. I was hoping it would be useful to someone as reference material or a starting point for BP cartridge loads

    Playing with the chrono

    I found some pyrodex

Keep an eye on Cabelas for caps. They don't have any in stock right now, but a few weeks back I checked the website at the right time and they had #10's in stock so I grabbed 1000. It seems to be random luck for anyone to have them in stock right now, it's the same with large pistol primers

    I found some pyrodex

I figured some ppl might not be able to find it in their area. There's nothing on the shelves around here, if you can't order it online you ain't getting it unless you're willing to drive a couple of hundred miles for a maybe.

Chilled shot for casting round balls ?

Just in case you're looking, rotometals is a good source for lead, you can get pure lead or various alloys (lyman #2 for example). I recently bought 10lbs of lead from them, (5lbs pure lead and 5lbs of lyman #2 for my 45 colt. I thought the price was reasonable and I'm supporting an American...

    THR Remington 1858 Club

This is "Thumper", 2005 production. When purchased, it had the typical brand new bluing, reddish looking (mystery wood) grips, and was just a typical sheriff model you would get from Cabelas. I antiqued it myself, smoothed the internal parts, lapped the bore, had the muzzle crowned, flattened...

    Uberti va Pietta

Thanks for the input guys, good info. I already have 3 Pietta revolvers from the early 2000's production, (two 1858 Remington's, 1 with the 8 inch barrel and the other with the 5 1/2 in barrel; and I have an 1860 army). But who can stop with just 3 right? It''s good to know that Pietta hasn't...

    Uberti va Pietta

Interesting thread. Does anyone know or has anyone recently bought a pietta 1860 from Cabela's? I have a nice Pietta made 1860 army 44 that I think needs a twin. I've bought BP revolvers from Cabela's before and gotten good quality from them but am wondering if they are still sending out good...
